Answer critics – go out and win UNC

Last year, Virginia got a bid to the NCAA tournament as a last-four team. They deserved the bid, but they received a lot of criticism for their inclusion. They promptly went out and lost by 25 to Colorado State. This year, the committee made the correct decision and included UNC in the field. They are …

NCAA Tournament Committee gets ACC Selections and Seedings mostly right.

It’s the greatest postseason in sport – March Madness! How did the ACC fair? Well, the conference only got 4 bids, but you really can’t argue that it should have been more. ACC Tournament Final is set – Duke and Louisville

If you only saw the ACC Tournament, you wouldn’t have any clue many called the ACC down this year. UNC’s NCAA resume is better than you think.

Wednesday UNC clobbered Notre Dame 76-56. The win moved Heels 21-12 (13-7). The victory itself doesn’t put UNC into the Big Dance. Notre Dame finished the season 15-17 (8-12), but losing would have been devastating for the Heels. They didn’t lose and they looked impressive in wiping out the Irish. UNC’s resume is being questioned …

The ACC was close to being a 7 bid league.

No one will argue the ACC is down this year, but it didn’t have to be as tenuous with NCAA bids as it is. I’m not talking about money or coaches. The ACC as it is currently constructed should have had at least 6 bids and probably 7. There are 3 ACC locks, Duke, Clemson, …

Pittsburgh went from NCAA lock to nightmare finish in 2 months.

On January 4, 2025, Pittsburgh was 12-2 (3-0) and most bracketologists had the Panthers in the 4-6 seed range. A 4 game losing streak stunted things, but after beating North Carolina Pitt was 14-6 (5-4) and still a lock for the NCAA tournament on January 28. 5 Weeks later Pittsburgh won only 2 more games …
