Duke is headed to the Sweet 16 like a freight train.

Remember in 2018 when the ACC was largely down in football and Clemson was an incredible national championship-caliber team? They went on to win it all in dominant fashion. In fairness, Syracuse finished 15th in the country and NC State won 9 games. They were pretty good, but you get the idea. This year ACC …

Recent basketball hires at NC State and Virginia will get their programs back.

We aren’t even out of the opening weekend of the NCAA tournament, and the ACC, save Duke, has flamed out so far. Clemson played its worst first half of basketball in recent memory, losing in an upset to McNeese State. Louisville, despite a home court advantage, was run off the court by Creighton, and UNC …

After NCAA loss, UNC’s Hubert Davis at a crossroads.

UNC got bounced from the NCAA tournament Friday 71-64 by Ole Miss. The Tar Heels finished the season 23-14. After 4 seasons, head coach Hubert Davis has a resume that just about any program and coach in the country would be proud of save a couple of places like blueblood schools like Duke or Kansas. …

What the *&#^@ happened to Louisville and Clemson in the NCAAs?

By 6 PM on the first day of the NCAA tournament Louisville and Clemson were eliminated in a relative surprise loss to Creighton and a stunner to McNeese State. Both were double-digit losses where neither team sniffed winning the game. What the *&$(@ happened? First off this isn’t an indictment of the ACC. Louisville and …

Answer critics – go out and win UNC

Last year, Virginia got a bid to the NCAA tournament as a last-four team. They deserved the bid, but they received a lot of criticism for their inclusion. They promptly went out and lost by 25 to Colorado State. This year, the committee made the correct decision and included UNC in the field. They are …

NCAA Tournament Committee gets ACC Selections and Seedings mostly right.

It’s the greatest postseason in sport – March Madness! How did the ACC fair? Well, the conference only got 4 bids, but you really can’t argue that it should have been more. Duke, Clemson, and Louisville were the locks. Then there was one more potential bid and that was North Carolina. As we said earlier …

Duke’s Jon Scheyer’s in-game coaching ability shines with ACC Title.

When you are the head coach at Duke, everything you do will be measured against the legendary Mike Krzyzewski. Duke isn’t the only place where an ACC Hall of Famer had to be replaced in recent years, but it’s the only one at the moment that appears to be on stable ground with that Hall …

ACC Tournament Final is set – Duke and Louisville

If you only saw the ACC Tournament, you wouldn’t have any clue many called the ACC down this year. The Friday semi-finals featured 3 Top 15 teams (Duke, Clemson, and Louisville), and another classic between Duke and UNC. The Saturday Finals is a blue-blood finale in a top 15 matchup between Duke and Louisville. This …

ACCPrescription asks what ACC should do to get ACC basketball back on track. It’s a new era with Luke Loucks taking over FSU basketball from Leonard Hamilton. RubbingtheRock tells us CFB analyst Josh Pate explains what separates Clemson from other football programs.  North Carolina survived Wake Forest, and I think has punched their ticket to …

UNC’s NCAA resume is better than you think.

Wednesday UNC clobbered Notre Dame 76-56. The win moved Heels 21-12 (13-7). The victory itself doesn’t put UNC into the Big Dance. Notre Dame finished the season 15-17 (8-12), but losing would have been devastating for the Heels. They didn’t lose and they looked impressive in wiping out the Irish. UNC’s resume is being questioned …

Paul Finebaum spews realignment non-sense about FSU and Clemson.

Paul Finebaum is at it again. He loves to go after Clemson and Florida State, and I suspect it’s because they are the greatest threat to SEC football superiority outside of Michigan and Ohio State or whatever’s left of it. This time via Tigernet.com, he had this to say… “I think if you’re sitting there …
