Good afternoon. Let’s get right to it: At the time of this post, the Colorado Buffaloes football team is 1-3 in the Big 12 and 3-4 overall. My friend, @TalkinACCSports, says that Colorado is better than their overall football record and he might be right on that.
But it’s my assertion that team whose record is below .500 doesn’t deserve air time on ESPN or ESPN 2. While it’s true that the Buffaloes catch some eyeballs for ESPN because of Deion Sanders, the plain fact is that Colorado is taking away air time from Duke, SMU, and Louisville.
The Buffaloes are likely not to be bowl eligible this year – they do not deserve desirable TV slots on ESPN or ESPN 2 the rest of the year. This is a point where the Buffaloes should be relegated to ESPNU, ESPNNews, or ESPN Plus. End the preferential treatment now!
