There is something brewing in Atlanta with Georgia Tech’s baseball team. Early in the season, it was considered a solid top 10. Pitching was an open point, but the offense was considered to be one of the best in college baseball this year.
Well, so far those lofty expectations have been exceeded. This team is on an absolute heater. They won 12 games in a row, went 7-0 against ranked teams, with 4 run-ruled games, and 3 of those were against ranked teams. The pitching has given up more than 4 runs since March 21.
Saturday, they beat a top 5 FSU team 17-3. The Noles hadn’t given up more than 11 the entire season. They hadn’t previously lost a weekend series. The Noles top arm held their own against Georgia Tech’s monster lineup, but once things got deeper into the pen, it turned into batting practice for the Jackets.
College Baseball had a ton of reactions to Georgia Tech staking their claim as the best team in college baseball. Right now, the discussion is UCLA and Georgia Tech, and that’s the end of it.
