ACC Bowl Projections for November 3, 2013

This week will could decide the bowl fate of Florida State. Of course anything is possible, but I think this is one of Oregon’s and Alabama’s last realistic shots at losing. Oregon is at Stanford and Alabama plays LSU. It’s not vintage a LSU team, but athletically they still matchup decently with the Tide. * …

The 5 Best BCS era teams not to make the National Title game.

As we begin the stretch run of the college football season, there are still several teams in play for the national championship. Only 2 control their own destiny, Alabama and Oregon. That means there’s the potential for some very good teams to get left out. A Florida State team that won 51-14 at #3 Clemson …

What does Miami need to do to beat Florida State?

Saturday night, prime time top 10 teams, Gameday, Florida State and Miami… It has it all, except the Hurricanes have almost no chance of beating Florida State. Miami is more than a 20 point underdog, and they have to go to Tallahassee and try to beat a Florida State team that hasn’t played a single …

Who will replace coaching legends at Syracuse, Duke, UNC and Louisville?

Back in May I wrote that next year the ACC will have the greatest collection of college basketball coaches ever.  I don’t think there’s any doubt that statement. With Mike Krzyzewski,, Jim Boeheim, Roy Williams, Rick Pitino all together does it get any better. That’s 9 National Titles, 29 Final 4’s, and over 3200 wins. There’s only one problem …

Articles from around the ACC Blogosphere October 29, 2013.

Can you believe it is already just about November? This is my favorite time of the year. College Football is in full swing, and college basketball starting up. Ok ACC bloggers what’s happening out there? Miami blog StateoftheU tells us what a Hurricane victory over Florida State would mean to the author and his peers.  …

ACC Bowl Projections for October 27, 2013

I think we are far enough into the college football season to start getting a feel where the ACC Bowl teams end up.  I also link several bowl projections from around several various sports sites. The Kraft Fight Hunger could be a bowl destination if the ACC gets a 9th bowl eligible team, but only …

ACC showing signs of being the football conference John Swofford always dreamed of.

If you watched Saturday’s ACC games you may not agree with the title of this post. The quality of the games ok honestly wasn’t that good today, but there’s a difference from years past. Instead of a slew of 3-4, 4-3 teams jockeying for position, there’s bonafide national interest to what is happening in the …

What some college football teams wear and what it costs.

I had this sent to me from Matt Schexnayder. Interesting graphic… Every fall weekend, thousands of football players trot onto the fields of college stadiums all across the country. With pride, these players wear uniforms showcasing their school colors and logos. However, did you know that college football equipment—the jerseys, the pads, the helmets—represents a …

It’s been awhile since there’s been this much activity for ACC Football in the 3rd week of October. Normally we are starting to turn to basketball. Not so this year with Florida State in the middle of the national title chase, and Miami receiving their sanctions from NCAA today. How do the ACC bloggers feel …

The rebirth of Florida State football.

Following the January 2001 Orange Bowl BCS Title that Florida State lost 13-2 to Oklahoma, the Seminoles started a slow unmistakable decline in their program. It culminated in a humiliating 30-0 home loss to Wake Forest on November 11, 2006. To me at that point any shred of connection to the once great Seminole teams …

Of course we have to check in with Clemson and Florida State blogs first this week… Tomahawknation asks is this year’s Clemson …

All year we’ve talked about the success of ACC Football this season. At the moment there are 4 ranked ACC teams, 3 in the top 10, and a major showcase top 5 match up upcoming with Clemson and Florida State set to battle on October 19. Miami is ranked 10th, and Virginia Tech broke into …
