2026 Week 7 ACC Football Power Rankings

ACC Team of the Week : Boston College – for a 27-21  win over Pittsburgh

17. Syracuse (2-4, 0-4)

Last Week: 15

Syracuse has yet to win an ACC game. That lands you at the bottom of this list. Syracuse gets to head to much-improved UNC on Saturday,

16. Georgia Tech (2-4, 1-2)

Last Week: 14

Georgia Tech got back to their losing ways with a sloppy performance at Virginia Tech in a 34-24 loss. Boston College might be their last best shot at a win this year.

15. Stanford (3-4, 1-2)

Last Week: 17

Stanford cruised to an easy win over Elon after some rough weeks. Do they have another upset in them? They get a chance against NC State this week.

14. Boston College (3-3, 1-2)

Last Week: 16

Boston College’s win over Pitt gets them to .500. If they take a winnable game at Georgia Tech, BC can start thinking about making a bowl game.

13. NC State (3-3, 1-2)

Last Week: 13

If NC State doesn’t beat Stanford, Dave Doeren will be left at the airport.

12. Florida State (3-4, 1-3)

Last Week: 11

Florida State suffered a heartbreaking loss to Miami. The Noles just tease their fans. The Noles are off this week to think about their 1-3 ACC start.

11. California (3-4, 2-2)

Last Week: 10

Cal was boatraced by Wake Forest this week. Well, who isn’t getting thumped by Wake Forest these days? Going to SMU isn’t where you want to get better.

10. Duke (4-2, 1-2)

Last Week: 8

Duke’s 4-0 start is history after losing back-to-back games. Their matchup with Virginia is an ACC title elimination game.

9. Virginia Tech (5-2, 2-2)

Last Week: 12

Virginia Tech rebound from the Cal loss with a solid win over Georgia Tech, where they controlled things from start to finish. If they could knock off Clemson it would be James Franklin first signature win at Virginia Tech.

8. Pitt (5-2, 2-2)

Last Week: 6

Since QB Mason Heintschel went down, Pitt is reeling. Now it’s Miami this week. That’s not a way to get right.

7. Virginia (4-3, 2-2)

Last Week: 5

Virginia and Duke battle this week for mid-tier bowl positioning.

6. North Carolina (4-2, 2-1)

Last Week: 9

You can’t ignore North Carolina any longer. If there is a dark horse to get to the ACC Title game, it’s UNC. Don’t slip up against Syracuse.

5. Clemson (5-2, 2-1)

Last Week: 7

Clemson is beating and losing to who they should. Virginia Tech is an interesting test, because the Hokies are a pretty even matchup with Clemson. Defense is fine; offense needs to find a downfield passing attack.

4. Louisville (4-3, 3-2)

Last Week: 4

I don’t know what to make of Louisville at this point. They managed to leave Syracuse with a win, but it wasn’t pretty. They are on BYE this week.

3. SMU (5-1, 3-1)

Last Week: 3

SMU got a double digit win over Virginia, but I still don’t think SMU has peaked. They get Cal this week.

2.Wake Forest (6-1, 4-1)

Last Week: 2

I’m not so sure Wake Forest shouldn’t be talked about as a top 15 playoff-caliber team. It might be time to start having that conversation. They are just mowing down opponents now. They are off this week after a great 1st half.

1. Miami (6-0, 4-0)

Last Week: 1

Miami has moved to #1 in the polls, but FSU exposed some things in the Canes’ secondary. If Miami is going to make a run at a national title, that unit has to get healthy and better. Pitt is this week.
