Late April to early May is usually the time to start thinking about the college football season. We’re a little early to start a player analysis, but it’s time for a deep dive into the schedule. We’re looking especially at the out-of-conference here. We‘ll also be looking at the in-ACC conference games shortly after.
Games 6 – 10 | Games 11 – 15 |
1) Miami vs Notre Dame – November 7, 2026
Miami vs Notre Dame might not just be the game of the year in the ACC; it might be the game of the year in college football. This game has it all. There is brand power, historical rivalry, oh, and last year Miami beating out Notre Dame for the Final Playoff spot and making a run to the national title game. This year, both should again be in the thick of the playoff chase with both capable of winning the national title. Yeah, it doesn’t get much better than this.
2) Clemson vs LSU – September 5, 2026
Gameday will be at this game, and it will be on 730 on ABC. There are major storylines regarding the coaches. Can Dabo Swinney recapture the magic that made him one of the top coaches in the 2010s? Can Lane Kiffin go a week without being a total butthead? These are two big-name programs, trying to get back among the nation’s elite and get into the college football chase.
3) Georgia Tech vs Georgia – November 28, 2026
Clean Old Fashioned Hate is competitive again. Georgia Tech has played Georgia as well as anyone the last 3 years, without coming through with a win. There have been 3 straight highly rated games that have all been decided by single digits. Can Georgia Tech actually break through and get a win that their fanbase is desperate for?
4 ) Florida State vs Alabama– September 19, 2026
Last year, Florida State shocked the college football world by dominating Alabama 31-17. As usual, when an SEC team loses early in the year, it took about 3 weeks before the win was blown off as a fluke. That’s a shame because it proved what Florida State is capable of when they play to their potential. Alabama is looking for revenge, Mike Norvell is coaching for his job. There is a lot of intrigue in this one.
5) Georgia Tech vs Tennessee – September 12, 2026
Georgia Tech vs Tennessee is an old-time classic SEC rivalry. The Jackets and Vols have met 83 times, and this game should be a lot of fun, especially if Georgia Tech takes care of Colorado in week 1. For all the success Brent Key has had, he doesn’t have that signature OOC win. There are plenty of quality ACC wins, but a win here will catch the nation’s attention.
