What 10 games that don’t feature an ACC team are we most looking forward to catching?
1) Ohio State at Texas, September 12, 2026
Ohio State at Texas will be a top 5 matchup. This is the kind of matchup more brand schools should be putting together. Two great programs, with national championship hopes, playing a home-and-home series. Let’s hope these types of games don’t go away in the future, because they are a lot of fun for teams, coaches, and fans.
2) LSU at Ole Miss, September 19, 2026
The way Lane Kiffin left Ole Miss as the Rebels advanced to the college football semi-finals makes this game very intriguing for all the off-the-field drama. Both are fringe playoff possibilities, but I have to see what the Ole Miss fans have in store for Kiffin. That would be worth the price of admission itself.
3) Ohio State at Indiana, October 17, 2026
Indiana is your defending national champion; Ohio State won the national title 2 years ago. Both should be in the top 10 for this matchup. Could there really be a changing of the guard in the Big 10 from the Buckeyes to the Hoosiers?
4) Georgia at Alabama, October 10, 2026
Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer is 20-6 in two years at Alabama, but anything short of a national title post Nick Saban was going to frustrate Tide fans. Georgia has probably been the premier SEC team this decade, but hasn’t been to the national championship game since 2022. Alabama still has been able to have decent success against Georgia even with last years SEC Title game defeat. The winner of this game is in great position to reach the SEC Title game.
5) Oregon at Ohio State, November 7, 2026
Are Dan Lanning and Oregon ready to be the 4th different Big 10 team to win a national title this year? Lanning has had Oregon close, but still they’ve been behind the best the Big 10 has to offer. This matchup at Ohio State is a put up or shut up game for the Ducks. I really want to see how Oregon responds in this one.
