It was a rough beginning to the NCAA tournament for teams from the ACC. NC State went down to Texas 66-64 and lost 8 of their last 10 games. Will Wade is going to win a lot of games at NC State, but he didn’t get much out of his team the last few weeks of the season. He got riled up in interviews, and simply looked like he didn’t enjoy coaching his current crop of players. Maybe I’m wrong here, but I’m not sure how many players Wade has back. Against a meh Texas team, NC State was destroyed on the glass 38-25.
SMU’s Andy Enfield is a fine coach, but against Miami (Ohio) he gets an F. Yes, an F. SMU played right into the hands of the frenetic pace Miami (Ohio) wants. He did nothing to counter it, and the Mustangs didn’t look prepared for it. Even when SMU made runs, you never really felt like they could overtake Miami (Ohio)
Wade and Enfield are solid coaches, but you certainly expected a lot more than what you saw in their First Four flameouts.
