This is a quick post for this evening, but congrats to the Miami Hurricanes on their 24-14 win over the defending national champs Ohio State Buckeyes.
The scored more points against Ohio State than anyone did this year. That was the nation’s #1 scoring and total defense.
Miami ran for 153 yards and then held Ohio State to 45 rushing yards.
When Ohio State made a run to get things to 17-14, it looked like Ohio State had physically taken over the game. The defensive line answered to force an Ohio State punt. Then the offensive line took over as the Canes had a 5-minute 70-yard drive that ran into the teeth of the Buckeye’s defense.
Mario Cristobal is a coach that you have to feel good for. He did not inherit the Jimmy Johnson Miami Hurricanes. He had to rebuild Miami from the ground up, and he took his share of criticism for some of his game management decisions in past years, but here he is leading the Canes to the CFP Playoffs semi-finals.
I’ll write more on this tomorrow, but the Miami Hurricanes are blowing up the P2 Football Narratives one game at a time.
