February 2, 2025 ACC Basketball Power Rankings

18. Miami   (5-17, 1-10) NET – 230, RPI – 278

Last Week: 18

Miami finally won an ACC game beating Notre Dame. They go to Louisville this week, and the winning streak will stop at 1.

17. Boston College (10-11, 2-8) NET – 217, RPI – 215

Last Week: 17

Boston College took out FSU 77-76 for their first win since January 1. Has an ACC team had wilder back-to-back final 60 seconds this year? They should not have lost to UNC and should not have beaten FSU. They get Louisville at home then go to Syracuse.

16. Virginia (10-12, 3-8) NET – 135, RPI – 153

Last Week: 16

What a heartbreaker for Virginia to lose by a point at home to arch-rival Virginia Tech. It’s weird seeing Virginia having nothing to play for except pride in February.

15. NC State (9-12, 2-8) NET – 116, RPI – 217

Last week:  15

NC State is just a bad basketball team at this point now having lost 6 games in a row. Now there is the west coast swing to Cal and Stanford. From Final 4 to coaching question marks that fast for Kevin Keatts.

14. Notre Dame (10-11, 4-6) NET – 94, RPI – 184

Last Week : 12

Losing at Miami is inexcusable for Notre Dame, and killed any momentum the previous 2 wins gave them. They play at FSU and then host Virginia Tech.

13. Florida State (13-9, 4-7) NET – 88, RPI – 116

Last Week: 10

Remember when FSU was 13-5 (4-3) and starting to think about the bubble. Well, that’s history 4 losses later. The Noles get Notre Dame at home and need it if they are interested in the NIT.

12. California  (11-11, 4-7) NET – 130, RPI – 146

Last Week: 9

Cal is struggling with injuries and went 0-2 this week. They get NC State and Wake Forest in the week ahead.

11. Syracuse (10-12, 4-7) NET – 133, RPI – 150

Last Week: 11

Syracuse played one of their better games of the year with a road win at Cal. They host Duke and Boston College this week.

10. Georgia Tech (10-12, 4-6) NET – 128, RPI – 224

Last Week: 13

Georgia Tech came up with their best 20 minutes of basketball of the season in the 2nd half to knock off red-hot Louisville. Who saw that coming? Now they take things on the road to Clemson and Virginia.

9. Virginia Tech (10-12, 5-6) NET – 159, RPI – 178

Last Week: 14

Well hello there. Virginia won two road games this week at FSU and at Virginia. SMU better be careful in Blacksburg this week.

8. UNC  (13-10, 6-5) NET – 44, RPI – 27

Last Week: 8

UNC is in big trouble. They picked a terrible time to lose 4 of their last 5. If they don’t beat Pitt at home this week, their NCAA chances will be about cooked. Maybe they already are.

7. Stanford (15-7, 7-4) NET – 72, RPI – 58

Last Week: 7

Stanford badly needs to beat Wake Forest and NC State at home this week. If they do the bubble is in sight.

6. Wake Forest (16-6, 8-3) NET – 69, RPI- 52

Last week: 6

Wake Forest got a critical win over Pitt, but they need more. They really need a sweep at Stanford and Cal this week.

5. Pittsburgh (14-7, 5-5) NET – 36, RPI – 34

Last Week: 5

Pittsburgh needs to go on a little and get a couple of games over .500 in the ACC. They play Virginia at home then go on the road in a big game at UNC.

4. SMU (17-5, 8-3) NET – 41, RPI – 57

Last Week: 4

SMU doesn’t have any Q1 wins at 0-4 but they are 5-5 against the Q1 and Q2. A game at Virginia Tech is very tricky this week. It’s a must-win.

3. Louisville  (16-6, 9-2) NET – 30, RPI – 17

Last Week: 2

Louisville was cruising to the ACC and NCAA tournament, but a got major wakeup call in a stunning 77-70 loss to Georgia Tech in Atlanta. Was it just a blip or a sign of something more? A game at BC and then home to Miami is this week.

2. Clemson (18-4, 10-1) NET – 29, RPI – 21

Last Week: 3

Clemson has 6 games in a row and is eyeing a top 4 NCAA seed. They should handle an improving Georgia Tech before a massive home game with Duke.

1. Duke (19-2, 11-0) NET – 3, RPI – 5

Last Week: 1

Duke crushed UNC after struggling a bit with NC State. This week they head to Syracuse, and then it’s a showdown with one of the few ACC teams in Clemson that may be able to knock off Duke. The game is at Clemson.
