It’s been a couple of weeks since we took a look around ACC Blogosphere. With the football season at a close, what are feelings of ACC Bloggers on things? Georgia Tech blog FromtheRumbleSeat said it was a memorable, improbable, and spectacular season for Yellow Jacket football this season.   You know what? They are right. A …

College Football across the country will benefit from the now shattered myth of SEC football.

In a spectacular collapse during a 48 hour period Dec 31-Jan 1, the myth of the SEC football was shattered. The myth that the rest of the country can’t compete with the SEC football is history. I’m not saying that the SEC is suddenly a bad football conference or that you’ll never hear from the …

Pittsburgh’s epic bowl meltdown, proves Pat Narduzzi needs to change the entire culture of Panther football.

If I hadn’t watched the 4th quarter, I wouldn’t have believed it. Pittsburgh blew a 31-6 fourth quarter lead. A collapse so spectacular it left most of us in disbelief. Here is what is scary though, Pitt fans weren’t shocked. In fact, it seemed as if they almost expected it. That’s why I love twitter, …

Florida State’s tremendous winning streak comes to an end with loss to Oregon, but they will be back.

Florida State’s astonishing 29 game winning streak finally came to an end against an outstanding Oregon team Thursday at the Rose Bowl. In that streak Florida State won a national title, beat top 15 teams from Clemson, Georgia Tech, and Auburn. They won 3 ACC Titles, and an Orange Bowl. The 2013 team which stopped …

Georgia Tech finishes off magical season with resounding Orange Bowl win.

Georgia Tech saw an opportunity Wednesday night in the Orange Bowl, and they took full advantage of it. On the verge of the Jacket’s greatest season since the 1990 National Championship team, Georgia Tech had to go through a Mississippi St. team that spent a good portion of the year at #1. Not only did …

Louisville loses to UGA in the Belk bowl, but they are not far from being a top-end program.

Louisville has been a welcome addition to the ACC. They added quality depth to ACC football. This year they went 9-4, that included a road win at 8-5 Notre Dame. They beat Kentucky helping the ACC to a 4-0 rivalry day record against the SEC. The season ended on a down note though after a …

After crushing Oklahoma in the Russell Athletic Bowl, time to call Clemson a legitimate football power.

Clemson put on a performance in the Russell Athletic Bowl that I didn’t think they were capable of. Winning wasn’t out of the question, winning 40-6 seemed like a virtual impossibility. Don’t tell that to the Clemson football team and coaching staff. Clemson had a complete performance. It was total domination. Oklahoma came into the …

Boston College in good hands with Steve Addazio, but a late game collapse at the Pinstripe Bowl will sting.

I like Steve Addazio at Boston College. I think he’s the right man there, but make no mistake Boston College choked away the Pinstripe Bowl to Penn State. Up 21-7 late in the 3rd qtr, you have to feel pretty good when you are a power running team and have a QB like Tyler Murphy. …

Miami’s glory days seem further away than ever following Independence Bowl loss.

Miami entered the season as the pre-season ACC Coastal Division favorite. I never understood that to be honest, but I guess the ACC Media saw something there. The schedule was always too tough, but they should have better than this. In the end, and if you’re being honest, the season was basically a disaster. The …

Duke has another very good year, but comes up just short in the Sun Bowl.

There are some teams in the ACC, where I don’t understand how they get so little out of their talent. Then there is Duke and David Cutcliffe. Duke should not have averaged 9.5 wins the last two seasons. The talent is improved, but they shouldn’t be able to play right there with Texas A&M last …

Virginia Tech shows plenty of pride in Military Bowl win over Cincinnati.

On November 22, 2014, Virginia Tech sat 5-6 after a humbling 6-3 loss to Wake Forest. The Hokies were finished. They were done, the bowl streak likely over, Beamer was toast. There were two things the Hokies could do when faced with their worst season in over 20 years. They could either pack it in, …

Optimism abounds in Raleigh, after NC State beats UCF in St. Petersburg Bowl.

If you’re a NC State fan it really doesn’t get a lot better than what happened on Friday. Your biggest rival North Carolina, got thumped in their bowl game and looks like a program in total disarray. Your team went to the St. Petersburg bowl to battle a solid Central Florida team. NC State beat …

After 3 years and an ugly bowl loss to Rutgers, where’s the progress at UNC under Larry Fedora?

After each ACC team’s bowl game, I’m going to write a brutally honest (good or bad) assessment of where I think that ACC football program is at. The first ACC bowl team to finish their season was North Carolina. North Carolina suffered an embarrassing 40-21 loss to Rutgers in the Quick Lane Bowl to finish …
