ACC Bubble Analysis for February 22, 2015

Somebody is surging out of the middle of the pack in the ACC… It’s is those Pitt Panthers. Was it enough to make the field this week? In my ranking system, any RPI top (100) win is a good win and any RPI top (50) obviously worth more. Any losses outside the RPI top …

Report of the SEC Network’s $5 Million+ payout in year one is welcome news for the likely ACC Network.

We have been wondering what the profitability of the SEC Network would realistically would be. Laughable reports of $20-30 Million per team were tossed around for year 1. Well we now have some more concrete numbers. South Carolina AD Ray Tanner said recently the number could top $5 Million in year one.   “Long story …

I’m not a fan of the North Carolina Georgia 2016 Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game matchup.

Today it was announced that the North Carolina Tar Heels would face the Georgia Bulldogs in the 2016 Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game. It seems like a good regional matchup in a high profile game. I tell you what though, I don’t like it for the ACC and I don’t like it for North Carolina. This is kind …

ACC Bubble Analysis for February 16, 2015

Sorry a day late on the bubble analysis, but it’s ready now. Where did your favorite ACC team end up? In my ranking system, any RPI top (100) win is a good win and any RPI top (50) obviously worth more. Any losses outside the RPI top (100) is considered a bad loss, and outside …

The ACC’s 10 worst Out of Conference football losses since 2010.

We can’t very well write a post about the ACC’s 10 best OOC wins since 2010 without also unfortunately listing the losses. The good news is that haven’t been that been that many additions since our 10 worst OOC losses since 2008 a couple of years ago.  The ACC is in a constant battle to …

The ACC’s 10 best Out of Conference football wins since 2010.

2 Years ago I wrote an article where I listed the ACC’s best wins since 2008.  Let me tell you, it was a hard search. So much so, that Georgia Tech’s 21-7 victory over a 7 win USC team in the Sun ranked 10th. How times have changed… Take a look at the last 5 years …

Did any teams make a move this week? Syracuse is out of the picture due to their self-imposed post-season ban… In my ranking system, any RPI top (100) win is a good win and any RPI top (50) obviously worth more. Any losses outside the RPI top (100) is considered a bad loss, and outside …

Should Georgia Tech be looking for a new basketball coach, and if so who could be considered?

Duke, UNC, Louisville, Virginia, and Notre Dame are top 15 teams. Pittsburgh, Syracuse, NC State, and Miami – under Jim Larranaga are quality programs. Clemson continues to be decent under Brad Brownwell. Virginia Tech and Wake Forest have shown good signs under new coaches Buzz Williams and Danny Manning. Boston College has a new coach. …

It’s National Signing Day – Let’s not get carried away, but don’t dismiss it either.

Today was national signing day. In the ACC the usual suspects Florida State and Clemson did very well. I’m not a recruitnik, so I can’t really break down each ACC class. You can check out the Rivals.com rankings to find out how each team did. Let me refer you to a previous piece I wrote… What …
