Change is inevitable. Georgia Tech basketball will never succeed with Brian Gregory.

Nearly a year ago, I asked if Georgia Tech had given up on basketball by retaining Brian Gregory.  It seems for at least for the 2015-2016 season the answer is yes. By holding on to Gregory after last season, Georgia Tech effectively threw their hands up for this season and hoped for the best.  There were …

A laugh, I mean look at ESPN’s Final College Football FPI Rankings.

One of the most hilariously flawed “advanced metric” rankings tool the ESPN’s FPI is at it again. They just released their Final Rankings, and they got the first team correct. Alabama is ranked #1. That was correct. It was downhill from there. Let point out the most egregious errors. #2 Oklahoma (11-2) – The …

Let’s take a final look at how the conference matched up after bowl season. Let me point out on my philosophy on these rankings – you’re most recent  OOC results count a lot. We’ll give each conference a relative strength value 1-10. Let me explain my relative rankings 0-5 : Conference lacks depth no elite …

ACC Football isn’t where it wants to be, but more progress was made in 2015.

The ACC’s football perception is always a sensitive subject. Is it improving? Does it trail the other 4 power 5 conferences? Are it’s best teams at a SOS disadvantage? and on and on. Another season is in the books, did the ACC continue its steady progression that’s been going on since 2012? Overall you have …

Clemson set for another College Football Playoff run after falling just short to Alabama in National Title Game.

I finally had some time to sit down and give my thoughts on a classic national title game between Clemson and Alabama. Let me just get started… Was Clemson QB Deshaun Watson fantastic in defeat or what? Watson absolutely shredded the vaunted Alabama defense to pieces. He had over 400 yards through the air, and …

What life looked like when Clemson won the College Football National Title in 1981.

It’s been 34 years since Clemson last played for a national title in football. Back in 1981 Clemson played and won the national title. FoxSports has an interesting article looking at what the world looked like back in 1981. How times have changed! Make sure you follow the All Sports Discussion Twitter account at @AllSportsDACC and please …

ESPN disappoints advertisers due to College Football Playoff Semi-Finals rating drop.

Oh boy… This was an eye opening article from BroadCastingCable.com.  ESPN could lose $20 Million on this year’s College Football Playoff Semi-Finals. Despite the efforts of the College Football Playoff committee and some media outlets downplaying the financial hit ESPN took by being forced to televise the two national championship semi-final games on New Year’s Eve, …

Clemson’s 5 keys to beating Alabama.

Judging by CBSSportline’s college football “experts”, Clemson should just forfeit the National Championship game with Alabama, avoid the embarrassment and finish the year ranked #2. Alabama is a very good team, with an outstanding defense, but they are beatable. They lost to Ole Miss, nearly lost to Tennessee, and struggled in season ending games against …

Clemson’s 5 most important recruits, not on the 2015 team, but built foundation for it.

Monday night Clemson will be playing for the National Title against Alabama. Players like Deshaun Watson, Shaq Lawson, Wayne Gallman, and Mackensie Alexander are some of the recruits that have made the Tigers a National Title Contender. Clemson didn’t become a national championship caliber team overnight though. Mired in mediocrity, and a reputation for underachievement …

Is Clemson an SEC caliber team? was debated on ESPN… seriously.

So I turn on ESPN to see a discussion of the National Title Championship. There aren’t a lot options here for pre-game analysis. You have FOX, but I won’t watch any network analysis that employs Clay Travis… period. That doesn’t mean ESPN is a shining star with their Title Talk. The first thing I see …

College Football Playoff can’t expand without bringing bowl games to an end.

This past week I traveled down to the Orange Bowl as a Clemson Tiger fan. I went to the ACC Championship in Charlotte last year to root on Georgia Tech. One thing has become very apparent to me. The College Football Playoff isn’t expanding without a complete paradigm shift in how the college football post-season …
