Who has the better basketball job opening – Georgia Tech or Pittsburgh?

Two pretty surprising job openings are now available in the ACC – Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh. Jamie Dixon is headed to TCU to talk over his at alma mater. In my opinion, this won’t end well for Dixon. Dixon is a good coach, but not a great recruiter. It will be tougher to recruit to …

NC State plans upgrades to video facilities for future ACC Network?

Ah the internet is a great thing. If it’s on the net, someone is going to find it. I can’t take credit for digging this up, but to whoever did these are impressive investigative skills.  This comes from a project site at NC State.  Design of a studio for the production of game-day video that …

Who needs a Final 4 Berth more UNC or Virginia?

With the ACC getting six teams into the Sweet 16, the conference will be well represented this weekend. The ACC had two number 1 seeds, UNC and Virginia and they are both  favorites to make the Final 4 and possibly win a national title. Fans of each ACC school will obviously say my school needs …

Articles Around the #ACC Blogosphere – March 22, 2016

We are right in the middle of the NCAA Tournament where the ACC sent a record 6 teams to the Sweet 16. Our ACC bloggers will have some thoughts on that. UNC Blog TarHeelBlog takes pride in the Tar Heels being the regular season and tournament champion of a conference with 6 Sweet 16 teams. …

Dos and Don’ts for rooting for the ACC after sending record setting six teams to Sweet 16.

With the ACC sending a record 6 teams to the Sweet 16, it’s been a great week of basketball for the conference. The ACC offices in Greensboro must be sharing high fives across the office, and I”m pretty sure John Swofford made a fist pump after each ACC win. North Carolina, Virginia, Miami, Duke, Syracuse, …

The ACC stands tallest early at the NCAA tournament while the rest of the power 5 flops.

Going to back to last season the ACC is a sterling 23-6 in the NCAA Basketball tournament. The conference was 17-5 last season and a  solid 6-1 to start this year. Actually let’s change that from solid to astounding considering the carnage that took place against the rest of the power 5. The Pac 12  …

Let the 16 seed beating a 1 seed storyline go until it happens.

Quick post for tonight… I have a pet-peeve about the coverage for the NCAA Tournament. It’s getting kind of old to hear over and over again if this is the year a 16 beats a 1. So far number 1 seeds Virginia and Kansas knocked off Hampton and Austin Peay by an average of more …

How far will each ACC team go in the 2016 NCAA tournament?

Miami #3 Seed – South Region Miami shouldn’t have any problem with Buffalo in round 1, but Arizona or Wichita State could be a real issue in round 2. If the Canes survive round 2, then I like the matchup with Villanova. I don’t trust team’s that rely on the 3 like the Wildcats, and …

What is Georgia Tech going to do with Brian Gregory after strong finish?

I’ll be the first to admit, I thought Brian Gregory was toast in the middle of February. Sitting at 13-12 (3-9), the Gregory watch was on. I was looking at possible coaching candidates at Georgia Tech. Gregory runs a clean program, and by  most accounts is good guy. I just thought he was overwhelmed at this …

Are North Carolina and Virginia on a collision course for the ACC Title?

The ACC tournament had featured game after game of close tightly contested affairs. Then North Carolina and Virginia got their turns in the ACC tournament and just flattened two quality teams in likely NCAA team Pittsburgh, and likely NIT team Georgia Tech by an average of 18.5 points. North Carolina beat Pittsburgh 88-71, and …

The ACC Basketball Tournament gets ESPN’s top billing.

A lot of us criticize ESPN’s coverage of their conference and their teams. You know the whole the SEC Bias thing. I’ve been critical of ESPN in the past as well.   There is one time though where ACC fans have to pleased with ESPN, and that is during the ACC Men’s basketball tournament. The ACC …
