Geoff Collins say he was warned by Bruce Arians not to leave Temple for Georgia Tech.
This is rich, of course – for many reasons. Let’s recap Geoff Collins ‘Georgia Tech tenure:
- Geoff Collins honestly sucked – and bad during his tenure at Georgia Tech – he finished with an awful 10–28 overall record before being fired
- He hired and retained a coaching staff (many came with him from Temple) with little or no experience coaching at the Power-4level, leading to weak developmental and tactical execution.
- He moved Georgia Tech away from Paul Johnson’s triple-option offense to a standard spread offense – and Collins didn’t have the roster to execute that offense (and he couldn’t recruit players for his desired offense).
- His teams constantly got blown out – especially by Georgia – and lacked discipline, effective tackling, and any sense of game management – in other words, they lacked a coach.
- He also shattered relationships with prior Georgia Tech players and coaches.
Geoff Collins was a dumpster fire of a football coach at Georgia Tech.
