Well, someone has to be last in the post-spring rankings.
16. North Carolina
A bad team had a ton of turnover. Unless he hits portal gold, things don’t look good for Bill Belichik.
15. Stanford
Stanford didn’t have a lot of talent last year, but they played hard. There still isn’t much talent.
14. Syracuse
If Steve Angeli looks like the QB he was early last year before he got hurt, Syracuse could be several spots higher than this.
13. Florida State
I can’t in good conscience have FSU higher than this. They’ve been the worst ACC program for the last 2 years. They have to be better, right?
12. Wake Forest
Wake Forest lost several quality players, but Jake Dickert showed some real coaching chops last year.
11. Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh has a very good QB returning too in Mason Heinstschel, but you simply never know what you’ll get with a Part Narduzzi team. Pitt could be a top 3 ACC team.
10. Duke
The defending ACC champs have had back to back 9 win season under Manny Diaz. They will try for 3 in a row.
9. Georgia Tech
Georgia Tech hopes their Medonza at QB is as half as good as the Indiana one. Transfer Justice Haynes could be the best RB in the ACC.
8. Virginia Tech
Virginia Tech is going to have a real Penn State feel with James Franklin and a bunch of Penn State transfers. The portal class is solid, too.
7. Clemson
Clemson still has talent, but I’m not even sure if being ranked 7th is too high. This feels like a reputation ranking even for me.
6. California
What did I say about returning QBs? Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele is back, and he’s going to be a huge star.
5. Virginia
Virginia is coming off an 11 win top 20 season. Tony Elliot may have figured out how to win at Virginia.
4. NC State
I love teams with returning QBs. CJ Bailey is back under the controls. The Wolfpack lost some talent, but could still be a contender.
3. Louisville
The backfield should be dynamite. Jeff Brohm has Louisville trending up.
2. SMU
SMU has QB Kevin Jennings back and Rhett Lashlee as a head coach. Watch out for SMU this year.
1. Miami
Miami might take a step back defensively, but its offense could look like the Cam Ward version with Darien Mensah taking over.
