ACC Team of the Week : Pittsburgh – for a 42-28 win over Georgia Tech
17. Boston College (1-10, 0-7)
Last Week: 17
It’s been a rough season at BC, but they can finish with a W over fading Syracuse.
16. Syracuse (3-8, 1-6)
Last week: 16
Notre Dame could have scored 120 on Syracuse if it wanted. The loser BC Syracuse, will finish dead last in these rankings.
15. North Carolina (4-7, 2-5)
Last Week: 14
No bowl for UNC in Bill Belichick’s first season. Going down to another in-state rival like NC State will make it a very long off-season.
14. Virginia Tech (3-8, 2-5)
Last Week: 13
It isn’t likely, but Virginia Tech could ruin Virginia’s playoff and ACC Title hopes. That would add some spice to this rivalry.
13. Florida State (5-6, 2-6)
Last Week: 12
Florida State has to beat Florida to make a bowl game, but at least Mike Norvell is returning, right?
12. Stanford (4-7, 3-5)
Last Week: 15
Stanford is 4-7, and to be honest, it was a fine job of coaching by Frank Reich to get there. Now they face top 10 Notre Dame.
11. Duke (6-5, 5-2)
Last Week:11
Duke will reach a bowl game after beating archrival UNC. Wake Forest will be a real test.
10. Louisville (7-4, 4-4)
Last Week 8
This is one of the worst stretches I’ve ever seen from a Jeff Brohm coached team. If Louisville loses to a bad Kentucky team, there will be some real frustrated Cardinal fans.
9. California (6-5, 3-4)
Last Week: 6
Head coach Justin Wilcox is history after an ugly loss to Stanford. Can they play spoiler against SMU?
8. NC State (6-5, 3-4)
Last Week: 10
It’s been quite the roller coaster year for NC State, but beating UNC is always a good way to finish a regular season for the Wolfpack.
7. Wake Forest (8-3, 5-3)
Last Week: 9
If Wake Forest beats Duke, they deserve to be ranked in the top 25.
6. Clemson (6-5, 4-4)
Last Week: 7
Clemson has suddenly won 3 games in a row. If Clemson knocks of South Carolina, it won’t save the season, but it sure will help.
5. Georgia Tech (9-2, 6-2)
Last Week : 1
Outside of Louisville, no ACC team has been more disappointing in November than Georgia Tech who face planted against Pitt. Georgia is playing their best football of the year, while Georgia Tech is playing its worst. Good luck, Friday Jackets.
4. SMU (8-3, 6-1)
Last Week: 5
Rhett Lashlee is proving once again why he’s such a fine coach. SMU is much improved since early in the season. They go to erratic Cal for a chance to get to Charlotte.
3. Pitt (8-3, 6-1)
Last week: 4
Pitt went down to Atlanta and brushed Georgia Tech and their ACC Title hopes aside. Now, Pitt tries to knock off Miami and hope for chaos to make it to Charlotte.
2. Virginia (9-2, 6-1)
Last Week: 3
Virginia has been the ACC’s most consistent team, and now can punch their ticket to the ACCCG by beating rival Virginia Tech.
1. Miami (9-2, 5-2)
Last Week: 2
Miami inches closer to #9 Notre Dame by being ranked #12 now. They get a ranked Pitt now to prove their playoff worth.
