Best and Worst case record for Wake Forest in 2016

Wake

Best / Worse Case Record for :

Clemson | Georgia Tech | Virginia | Miami | Louisville | Duke | Boston College  | Pittsburgh | Florida State | Virginia Tech | NC State | North Carolina Syracuse

Wake Forest
Wake Forest suffered their 3rd straight season of winning 4 games or less. If you look at last year though, there were signs that the Deacs may be able to reach a bowl game this seaspn. Dave Clawson has quietly made the Deacs more competitive.  There was an 8 point loss to Florida State,  1 point loss to Louisville, a 7 point loss to Indiana, and a 6 point loss to Duke. These were all teams that reached bowl games last year.

Will Go 6-6 (3-5) if:
The offensive line continues to mature. Two years ago the Deacs offensive line was honestly just awful. Last year there were some slight gains, but it was still pretty bad. When you can’t run the ball, which Wake Forest couldn’t last year, it is almost impossible to win games. They return plenty of experience on the offensive line so it could be a good deal better. Tulane, Duke, Delaware, NC State Syracuse, Indiana, Army, Virginia, and Boston College are all games Wake Forest should be able to compete in. I can see 6 wins in there.

Will Go 3-9 (1-7) if:
The offense can’t take a step forward. The offense was 114th in the nation last year. That has to improve. The defense is actually pretty good, but it is not enough to carry Wake Forest. A struggling offense + a decent defense could be a lot of 20-13 losses.
