Don’t doubt Roy, North Carolina back in the title game.

Roy-Williams

The Tar Heels are back in the Title Game game for the 2nd straight year. One thing that should come to an end is questioning Roy Williams coaching ability. He is one of the best of all time. That’s a fact. He’s been to 9 Final Fours, and 2 National Titles – with a chance at a 3rd title Monday night against Gonzaga.

With an upper-class laden team, Roy William’s has the country’s best rebounding team. Two boards on missed Free Throws by UNC sealed the game against Oregon. The Heels were a bit fortunate that Oregon struggled so much from 3 point range, but as we know it’s a matter of survive and advance. It wasn’t as if UNC didn’t have their own issues to fight through. Guard Joel Berry looks healthy most of the time, but his ankles do seem to be affecting his jump shot.

As I’ve said before on this blog, UNC has the highest ceiling of any team in the country. When they are on, they are the best team in the country. That said they aren’t an overwhelming favorite against Gonzaga.

The Zags have a frontline that is nearly as big as the Tar Heels. They are a team that’s been in the top 10 for the entire season, and their run to the finals proves they are worthy of playing for the national title. I don’t think they have the athleticism of UNC, but it should be a great battle. I wouldn’t doubt Roy comes home with his 3rd title.
