Wake Forest is 4-0. I repeat Wake Forest is 4-0.

Maryland v Wake Forest

Let that sink in for a moment the Wake Forest Demon Deacons are 4-0. This was a team that a couple of years ago may had the worst offensive line in the country, and they are undefeated after winning at Indiana 33-28. Now Indiana isn’t a college football blue blood, but they were a bowl team last year. When you are Wake Forest and trying to get reach a bowl game it is a big win. Wake Forest also has a win against the Duke Blue Devils, who by the way just won at Notre Dame.

Wake Forest is one the most improved teams in the ACC, and if Bobby Petrino didn’t have Louisville in the top 5 Dave Clawson would be the leading for ACC COY.

Here are some stats that my podcast partner @Hokiesmash dug up on what Wake Forest has accomplished this year.

Wake is 9th in the country in red zone defense, 12th in rushing D, 18th in team sacks, 19th in passing yards allowed, tied for 66th in sacks permitted (they protect their own QB well), 11th in scoring D – these guys can D up

This means Wake Forest has an excellent chance to go bowling. Games at @NC State, Syracuse, Army, Virginia, and Boston College are all winnable. If the Deacs can just go 2-3 in those 5 games, and believe me they are good enough to win 4 out of the 5 then a well earned post-season trip  is on their way.

Anyone want to argue, that the Deacs aren’t the 4th best team in the Atlantic Division after powerhouses FSU, Louisville, and Clemson? They very well could be.
