We also take a guess at where the NCAA tournament cutline should be.
Stats come from https://www.warrennolan.com/
18. Notre Dame (11-10, 2-6) NET 81, RPI 78
Last week: 18
Notre Dame very nearly made a mess of Virginia’s season. They go to Syracuse and Louisville.
17. Georgia Tech (11-10, 2-6) NET 140, RPI 164
Last Week : 15
Georgia Tech has lost 5 of their last 6 games. Now they host UNC and head to Cal. They might eventually end up at the bottom of this list.
16. Pitt (9-12, 2-6) NET 118, RPI 182
Last week: 16
Pitt goes to Clemson and goes to Virginia. Good luck with that Pittsburgh.
15. Boston College (9-10, 2-5) NET 157, RPI 212
Last Week: 16
Boston College hosts Virginia and they plays at Duke this week. I don’t think this ends well for BC.
14. Wake Forest (11-10, 2-6) NET 67, RPI 73
Last Week: 13
Wake Forest has lost 5 of their last 6 games. Did they really lead Michigan in the final minutes? They have NC State this weekend. Steve Forbes may want to look for realtor.
13. Florida State (9-12, 2-6) NET 107, RPI 139
Last Week: 14
FSU is actually playing pretty well recently, but they are too far back to get into any NCAA picture. I wouldn’t want to play them. The host Stanford this week.
12. Syracuse (12-9, 3-5) NET 80, RPI 120
Last week: 11
Syracuse is a talented team that is one of the ACC’s most disappointing teams. They’ve lost 4 games in a row. A sweep of Notre Dame and UNC is a must.
11. California (14-6, 3-5) NET 56, RPI 58
Last Week: 12
Cal’ could really use a sweep of Miami and Georgia Tech this week. You’re not .500 in the ACC and I don’t like your chances to get to the NCAA tournament.
10. Stanford (14-7, 3-5) NET 77, RPI 41
Last Week: 10
Stanford’s 3 game losing streak has negated their 4 Q1 wins. They have to get back to .500 in the league before they get on the right side of the bubble. The head to FSU and host Clemson this week.
——————————————- NCAA Cutline —————————————————————
9. Virginia Tech (16-6, 5-4) NET 55, RPI 33
Last Week: 9
Virginia Tech gets a major Q1 opportunity when they host Duke this week.
8. Miami (17-4, 6-2) NET 36, RPI 61
Last Week: 7
Miami has righted the ship with 2 straight wins. Cal at home and BC on the road need to be wins to keep things on track.
7. NC State (15-6, 6-2) NET 27, RPI 44
Last Week: 8
It seems NC State got a wakeup call after losing to Georgia Tech. That was 3 wins ago. They go to Wake Forest and SMU this week.
6. Louisville (14-6, 4-3) NET 19, RPI 34
Last Week: 6
Louisville got clobbered by Duke, which says plenty where both teams are at. SMU and Notre Dame are at home this week.
5. SMU (15-5, 4-3) NET 32, RPI 20
Last Week: 4
It’s a big week ahead for SMU as they go to Louisville and get a NC State team playing really well at home.
4. North Carolina (16-4, 4-3) NET 24, RPI 16
Last Week: 5
North Carolina’s win at Virginia really opened some eyes. They need to keep the momentum going with a game at Georgia Tech and home game with reeling Syracuse.
3. Clemson (17-4, 7-1) NET 30, RPI 28
Last Week: 3
Clemson won at Georgia Tech this past week. This week they host Pitt, then go on the road to Stanford.
2. Virginia (17-3, 6-2) NET 16, RPI 22
Last Week: 2
Should we be concerned about Virginia? They lost to UNC and barely got by Notre Dame. They play at BC and host Pitt to try and get right.
1. Duke (19-1, 8-0) NET 2, RPI 2
Last Week: 1
31, 21, and 30 – Those are the margins that Duke has beat their last 3 opponents by. They have a tricky game at Virginia Tech, then host Boston College. There’s Arizona – then Duke.
