December 18, 2025 ACC Basketball Power Rankings

We’ll add RPI Rankings when we have more data points. We also take a guess at where the NCAA tournament cutline should be.

Stats come from https://www.warrennolan.com/

18. Boston College (5-6, 0-0) NET 180, RPI 231

Last Week: 18

Boston College has actually been somewhat competitive in its losses. FDU is next week.

17. Florida State (5-6, 0-0) NET 143, RPI 165

Last Week: 16

FSU has lost 5 games in a row and is getting worse with each passing game. Miss Valley State and Jacksonville are this week.

16. Georgia Tech (7-4, 0-0) NET 191, RPI 190

Last Week : 17

Georgia Tech showed a few signs of life against Marist. Lafayette is this week.

15. Pitt (6-6, 0-0) NET 169, RPI 166

Last week: 15

Pitt has Penn State this week. That might help jump-start Pitt’s season if they win.

14. Syracuse (7-4, 0-0) NET 90, RPI 133

Last week: 13

Syracuse had a great win over Tennessee, but they promptly threw it away with a loss to Hofstra. They’d better beat Northeastern and Stonehill.

13. Stanford  (8-2, 0-0) NET 109, RPI 97

Last Week: 14

Stanford can really help their resume with a win over Colorado this week.

12. Notre Dame (9-3, 0-0) NET 67, RPI 53

Last week: 12

Purdue Fort Wayne is this week for Notre Dame, as the Irish need to figure out how to get by without Marcus Burton.

11. NC State (8-4, 0-0) NET 36, RPI 99

Last Week: 11

The metrics look good, but the quality wins aren’t there. It’s an absolute must-win for NC State against Ole Miss.

10. Virginia Tech (10-2, 0-0) NET 59, RPI 38

Last Week: 10

Virginia can’t afford to lose to Elon this week, but I think they’ll be fine.

9. Wake Forest (9-3, 0-0) NET 48, RPI 86

Last Week: 9

We’ll move Wake Forest inside the cutline if they can beat Vanderbilt this week.

8. Miami (10-2, 0-0)  NET 33

Last Week: 8

North Florida should get Miami to 11-2.

7. SMU  (9-2, 0-0) NET 41, RPI 16

Last Week: 5

SMU has lost two of its last three games. Central Arkansas and Fullerton are this week. SMU can’t lose to either.

6. Clemson (9-3, 0-0) NET 31, RPI 50

Last Week: 7

Clemson really needs to make sure they don’t slip up against a tricky Cincinnati team.

5. California  (10-1, 0-0) NET 66, RPI 59

Last Week: 6

Cal is in a great position for a 12-1 start with Morgan State and Columbia this week.

4. Louisville (9-2, 0-0) NET 17, RPI 45

Last Week 2

Louisville got trounced at Tennessee. Right now, Louisville looks like a team that can reach the Final 4 or be a 1st round exit. Montana is upcoming.

3. Virginia  (9-1, 0-0) NET 21, RPI 68

Last Week: 4

Virginia and Maryland is a fun old-time ACC matchup this week. There’s also American upcoming.

2. North Carolina (10-1, 0-0) NET 16, RPI 12

Last Week: 3

North Carolina is on a roll. If they beat Ohio State and East Carolina, I’d put them in the top 10.

1. Duke (11-0, 0-0) NET 2, RPI 6

Last Week: 1

Texas Tech is going to be a real test for Duke this week.
