Air Force’s Birdow soars over circumstances that set him up for failure

Teven Birdow was 5-years-old when his father was sentenced to prison for a home invasion case in Oklahoma City. That left Teven set up for failure, like many American youths trapped into such circumstances, but his mother started him on another path. Jamie Rodrigues went without as a single mother to make sure her son …

Ranking the Power 5 Football Conferences after Week 5 with Playoff Analysis

While the playoff committee doesn’t rank the power 5 conference, there is no way conference strength – which means OOC results doesn’t figure in to a committee members thought process. Let me point out on my philosophy on these rankings – your most recent  OOC results count a lot, and you’ll see me reference that …

NC State…. Where are we now?

Well, here we are 5 weeks into the season and I have no idea what to make of this NC State team. If I told you back in say, May, that NC State would be going into the bye week at 3-2, people might be disappointed, but a lot would say, that isn’t very newsworthy, …

Good afternoon, Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) football fans. Just a quick post – I’m dropping a thread that was pretty popular on Twitter: 2/ Justin Fuente has gone a long way from that – he has to reach out to former players – not just to the stars – and bring them back into …

Give @MattZemek a twitter follow and check out his musings on college sports at https://www.patreon.com/Zemek. QUESTION: Is there cause for concern at Clemson? Early on Saturday, the Texas A&M Aggies barely defeated the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Aggies won, but the game felt like a loss, because no one in their right mind would say that A&M has a …

Wake Forest twitter reacts to going 5-0

Virginia’s game at Notre Dame was the day’s biggest game featuring an ACC team. Clemson’s near loss to UNC turned into the Saturday’s biggest story. Georgia Tech continues to be dysfunctional on offense, and Pittsburgh nearly collapsed to Delaware a week after beating UCF. Wake Forest at Boston College seemed to fly under the radar. …

Virginia plays with house money in South Bend

Give @MattZemek a twitter follow and check out his musings on college sports at https://www.patreon.com/Zemek. The Virginia Cavaliers are not expected to beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish this weekend in South Bend, Indiana. Losing this game does not own the power to redefine the Cavaliers’ season. So this is Scott Bracey. Yeah, he is an impressive guy. And that’s before we see if he is on the verge of completing a breakout season. Bracey met with the media for one of the first times – if not the first – since he arrived on campus in the Class of 2016 as …
