The ACC’s three biggest questions of week 11.

Is there a realistic path for an ACC team to reach the playoffs? No – The ACC’s realistic chances of having a playoff team died at South Bend. Now I think Clemson and UNC can get close. Notre Dame is ranked #20 and if they win out including beating USC they can get into the …

Where does Clemson go after getting exposed at Notre Dame?

The ACC’s last best chance at the playoffs is history. Clemson went to South Bend and was absolutely undressed and exposed by Notre Dame. On a bad weather night, Notre Dame had a simple effective game plan – run the ball, play solid defense and special teams. Check, check and check from the Irish. Clemson …

Brent Pry’s first year at Virginia Tech has concerning warning signs.

Virginia Tech fell to 2-7 after a second-half collapse to Georgia Tech 28-27. The Yellow Jackets have been gritty under Brent Key, but they came into this game with Zach Pyron at QB. Pyron was Georgia Tech’s 3rd string QB barely a month ago. Playing at home the Hokies were up 27-16 in the 4th …

Current Heisman Watch 2022 via @ESPN

We have just a quick post for tonight. We head into the final stretch of the college football season, and who is in a position to be there in NYC? ESPN has their top 5 list.  I’d probably have Tennesee’s Hendon Hooker at the top of the list as ESPN does. From an ACC point …

The ACC’s three biggest questions of week 10.

Can Clemson play a 60-minute game at Notre Dame? We’ve seen Clemson light it up on the scoreboard. We’ve seen Clemson lockdown defensively for extended periods. We haven’t seen the Tigers play a full 60-minute game on both sides of the ball. Can it happen at Notre Dame? I think the Tigers can beat the …

There were positives in the ACC this weekend.

As usual, the media tried to tear down the ACC over a couple of results. I hate to pick on Andrea Adelson because she really does an excellent job covering the ACC, but the tweet below is the kind of thing the media does just to create a negative narrative. We legitimately might see an …

Louisville, back from the dead, crushes Wake Forest.

Think back 4 weeks ago as Louisville was coming off a disastrous 34-33 to a terrible Boston College team. How terrible are the Eagles? They just lost UCONN. After that loss, Louisville sat 2-3, with a brutal stretch of football for the Cardinal’s final 6 games. Scott Satterfield, let’s be honest, looked done as Louisville’s …

With the loss of starting of QB Devin Leary for the season, NC State’s outlook for the rest of the year looked bleak. Backup QB Jack Chambers gave good effort, but just couldn’t generate any offense for the Wolfpack. Against Virginia Tech Dave Doeren rolled the dice and went with true freshman MJ Morris briefly …
