ACC Team of the Week : Wake Forest – for a 13-12  win over SMU

17. Boston College (1-6, 0-5)

Boston College gave a credible effort against Louisville, but now must face a Notre Dame team trying to get into the playoffs.

16. North Carolina (2-5, 0-3)

Last Week: 16

North Carolina is gradually getting better, and nearly beat top 20 Virginia. They have a real shot at beating Syracuse this week.

15. Florida State (3-4, 0-4)

Last Week: 15

Florida State has feisty Wake Forest at home this weekend as the Noles try to avoid starting ACC play 0-5.

14. Syracuse (3-5, 1-4)

Last week: 14

Syracuse aided in giving Georgia Tech QB Haynes King a stat-padding game. This week, they host UNC.

13. Stanford  (3-5, 2-5)

Last Week: 12

Stanford stayed with Miami for a half before reality set in. Are they ready for the offensive firepower of Pitt?

12. NC State (4-4, 1-3)

Last Week: 11

NC State gave up 53 points last week to Pitt. Their defense is 106th in the country. There have been some massive upsets this year, so don’t count the Wolfpack out against Georgia Tech.

11. Virginia Tech (3-5, 2-2)

Last Week: 13

Virginia Tech showed some real life against Cal in a win. They get Louisville at home this week

10. California  (5-3, 2-2)

Last Week: 9

Cal still needs one more win for a bowl game. Can they spring the upset against Virginia at home?

9. Clemson (3-4, 2-3)

Last Week: 10

Clemson’s season is toast. Can they play with a little pride to finish the season, starting with Duke?

8. SMU  (5-3, 3-1)

Last Week: 5

SMU had its chances to win at Wake Forest. Now they host Miami, in what could have been a massive game. It’s still big, and they could play spoiler.

7. Wake Forest (5-2, 2-1)

Last Week: 8

Wake Forest knocked off SMU and is now eyeing a bowl game and more. They are capable of sending FSU to 0-5 in the ACC.

6. Duke (4-3, 3-1)

Last Week:6

Duke has had a week off to prepare for Clemson. They are plenty good enough to knock them off, too.

5. Pitt (6-2, 4-1)

Last week: 7

Pitt is a red hot team, that nobody wants to face right now. Stanford is this week.

4. Virginia  (7-1, 3-0)

Last Week: 4

Virginia came within inches of losing to UNC. They have to find their offense groove in a cross-country game against a dangerous Cal team.

3. Miami (6-1, 2-1)

Last Week: 3

Miami got out of the gate slowly against Stanford, but took care of business. SMU will require a much better effort from Miami.

2. Louisville (6-1, 3-1)

Last Week 2

Louisville struggled with a bad Boston College team, but winning is winning. They can’t play like that again at Virginia Tech, though.

1. Georgia Tech (8-0, 5-0)

Last Week : 1

The stakes get higher for Georgia Tech with each passing week. They cruised over Syracuse, but it’s a tricky game at NC State this week as they might be playing for Dave Doeren’s job.
