2025 Week 5 ACC Football Power Rankings

ACC Team of the Week : Virginia – for a 46-38  win over Florida State

17. Boston College (1-3, 0-2)

Last Week: 16

Boston College had chances to win all three of its losses. This week they face Pitt, another team that hasn’t cashed in on winnable games.

16. North Carolina (2-2, 0-0)

Last Week: 13

North Carolina has yet to play a competitive game against a P4 team. Is reeling Clemson a shot at their first P4 win?

15. Stanford  (2-3, 1-1)

Last Week: 15

Look who’s picked up their 2nd win of the year! Stanford comes back and beats San Jose St. They get a BYE week to enjoy things.

14. Wake Forest (2-2, 0-1)

Last Week: 14

Wake Forest had a near-perfect gameplan to slow Georgia Tech down, but could not hold on to a 17-point 2nd-half lead. This team will be a tough out. They get Virginia Tech this week.

13. Pitt (2-2, 0-1)

Last week: 11

No second-half lead is safe with Pitt. The same can said of BC. Now they play each other. Someone has to win this weekend between the two.

12. Clemson (1-3, 0-2)

Last Week: 12

If Clemson loses at UNC, then a 2 or 3-win season is on the table. It’s actually a really big game if the Tigers want any shot at salvaging something out of this season.

11. NC State (3-2, 1-2)

Last Week:8

NC State’s season is on the brink after a stunning home loss to Virginia Tech. Nothing like facing Campbell to get back on the winning track this week.

10. Virginia Tech (2-3, 1-0)

Last Week: 17

Virginia Tech flies up these rankings, with an inspired win at NC State. Wake Forest this week could even their record and build momentum for the second half of the year.

9. Syracuse (3-2, 1-1)

Last week: 6

Syracuse lost their starting QB Steve Angeli, but there’s no excuse for getting boatraced at home by Duke 38-3. It was a great performance at Clemson, followed by a home no-show. Who is this team? A game at SMU will be very tough.

8. California  (4-1, 1-0)

Last Week: 10

Cal put the blowout to San Diego St behind them with a win at Boston College. The game with Duke is a sneaky good matchup.

7. SMU  (2-2, 0-0)

Last Week: 9

SMU is coming off a BYE week, and if their season is going to turn around, it starts with Syracuse on Saturday.

6. Duke (3-2, 2-0)

Last Week:7

What has gotten into Duke? They went to Syracuse and just destroyed the Orange 38-3. The game at Cal is very intriguing.

5. Louisville (4-0, 1-0)

Last Week 4

Louisville fell behind big early at Pitt, but came back to win. If Louisville can back that win up by beating resurgent Virginia, they’ll get into the top 25.

4. Florida State (3-1, 0-1)

Last Week: 2

Florida State is still a fine team, but Virginia exposed quite a few things with the Noles defensively. All is forgotten if FSU beats Miami on Saturday.

3. Virginia  (4-1, 1-0)

Last Week: 5

Virginia’s offense is humming, and Florida State had no answer for it in the upset win for the Hoos. The matchup with Louisville is huge this upcoming weekend.

2. Georgia Tech (5-0, 2-0)

Last Week : 3

Georgia Tech looked like a team running on fumes escaping Wake Forest in a 30-29 OT win, but 5-0 is 5-0. The BYE week couldn’t come at a better time.

1. Miami (4-0, 0-0)

Last Week: 1

Miami has had plenty of time to prep for Florida State and their monster 7:30 ABC showdown. If Miami wins, that’s my number 1 team in the country.
