ACC Team of the Week : Georgia Tech – for a 24-21 win over Clemson
17. Virginia Tech (0-3, 0-0)
Last Week: 16
Virginia Tech trailed Old Dominion 28-0 at the half at home. Brent Pry was fired, and now the Hokies will try to salvage something out of the season. Wofford is this week.
16. Boston College (1-2, 0-1)
Last Week: 10
Boston College plummets in these rankings after a disastrous loss at Stanford. They get a week off before playing the suddenly dangerous Cal.
15. Stanford (1-2, 1-0)
Last Week: 17
Stanford picked up their first win of the season with a victory over BC. They have a running game with Micah Ford you cannot overlook. They face Virginia this week.
14. Wake Forest (2-1, 0-1)
Last Week: 14
Wake Forest stayed with NC State for a while before losing 34-24. They have a week to prepare for Georgia Tech, and they’ll need every minute of it.
13. North Carolina (2-1, 0-0)
Last Week: 15
North Carolina has looked decent against an overmatched opponent. If they beat UCF, then we can officially put the TCU performance to bed.
12. Duke (1-2, 0-0)
Last Week:11
Duke’s season is getting perilously close to falling apart. Tulane really didn’t have much trouble with Duke. Improved NC State is this week.
11. Syracuse (2-1, 0-0)
Last week: 13
Syracuse has a passing offense that could cause opposing teams a lot of problems, but I don’t trust that defense. Clemson still better be ready for them.
10. Pitt (2-1, 0-0)
Last week: 6
How in the world did Pitt blow a double-digit lead in the 4th quarter to West Virginia? Pitt has a week to stew on a loss that should have never happened.
9. Virginia (2-1, 0-0)
Last Week: 12
Don’t sleep on this Virginia team. They are better than previous versions, and I think they’ll get to a bowl game. They have Stanford this week.
8. SMU (2-1, 0-0)
Last Week: 8
Can SMU start to right their season with TCU this week? This game is massive for the potential direction of SMU’s season.
7. California (3-0, 0-0)
Last Week: 9
Ok California, we’re sold. Beating a decent Minnesota team tells me this Cal team is one to watch. Now that we’re paying attention, don’t slip against San Diego State.
6. NC State (3-0, 1-0)
Last Week:7
NC State and their QB CJ Bailey are off to a solid start at 3-0. A game at Duke is an intriguing game this week.
5. Louisville (2-0, 0-0)
Last Week 5
Louisville keeps cruising through the softest portion of its schedule. Bowling Green is this week.
4. Clemson (1-2, 0-1)
Last Week: 3
This is the last week we give Clemson the benefit of the doubt. They better show something against Syracuse because they’ve wilted late against LSU and Georgia Tech.
3. Georgia Tech (3-0, 1-0)
Last Week : 4
Georgia Tech officially makes the transition from hunter to the hunted after beating Clemson. Temple is this week, and if Georgia Tech is the team we think they are, they roll.
2. Florida State (2-0)
Last Week: 2
Florida State eases back into its schedule with Kent State. The Noles shouldn’t have any issues Saturday.
1. Miami (3-0)
Last Week: 1
Miami toyed with a good South Florida team this past weekend. Now the Canes have Gameday, and prime-time ABC matchup against Florida.
