Boston College hasn’t been bad the last 2 weeks against ranked Louisville and Notre Dame teams. They’ve been competitive. They can wreck SMU’s season as they host the Mustangs.
16. Syracuse (3-6, 1-5)
Last week: 14
Syracuse is a total trainwreck now after losing at home to UNC. Good luck against Miami.
15. North Carolina (3-5, 1-3)
Last Week: 16
North Carolina is clearly a better team than it was earlier in the year. They might get win #4 against Stanford.
14. Stanford (3-6, 2-4)
Last Week: 13
Stanford was no match for Pitt, and now heads to improving UNC.
13. Virginia Tech (3-6, 2-3)
Last Week: 11
Virginia Tech made Louisville sweat this past weekend, but couldn’t hold on. It’s a week before they go to Florida State.
12. Wake Forest (5-3, 2-3)
Last Week: 7
Wake Forest got blasted at FSU, and now heads to league-leading Virginia.
11. Florida State (4-4, 1-4)
Last Week: 15
After taking 2 months off following that Alabama, FSU returned and smashed Wake Forest. Are they setting up for a big finish?
10. California (5-4, 2-3)
Last Week: 10
Cal is desperately looking for that 6th win and bowl game. I don’t think they will find it at Louisville this week.
9. Clemson (3-5, 2-4)
Last Week: 9
I feel like Clemson should be lower, but where do we put them after their latest loss? This time to Duke. FSU is up next.
8. NC State (5-4, 2-3)
Last Week: 12
NC State is destroying the top of the ACC with wins over Virginia and Georgia Tech. It’s a week off before they face Miami.
7. SMU (6-3, 4-1)
Last Week: 8
SMU is still in the thick of the ACC chase. They go to Boston College this week to try and keep the momentum going.
6. Duke (5-3, 4-1)
Last Week:6
Duke left Clemson with a win and could get to the ACCCG. They head to UConn on Saturday.
5. Miami (6-2, 2-2)
Last Week: 3
Miami has 2 out of their last 3 games. That’s how you sink in this poll, and the national polls. Syracuse is this week.
4. Georgia Tech (8-1, 5-1)
Last Week : 1
Georgia Tech’s magical season took a hit with a mess of a defensive effort against NC State. Jackets can still salvage things and have a week off to figure things out.
3. Pitt (7-2, 5-1)
Last week: 5
Pitt is now ranked #24 and is soaring. They get a week off to ready for Notre Dame, and if they beat the Irish, Georgia Tech, and Miami to finish the season, they’ll be in the at-large playoff discussion.
2. Louisville (7-1, 4-1)
Last Week 2
Louisville won at Virginia Tech in a workman-like effort. Now they get Cal at home. Louisville should get to 8-1.
1. Virginia (8-1, 5-0)
Last Week: 4
That was a solid win for Virginia at Cal, in a game that felt like an upset waiting to happen. It didn’t, and I think Wake Forest is in trouble this week.
