Week 9 CFP Eliminator: Notre Dame can Wreck the ACC

This year’s Notre Dame football team is, to put things lightly, an enigma. The Irish opened the season by keeping things very close against Ohio State. Notre Dame played far better against the Buckeyes than any team other than Penn State. The Irish also have some solid wins on the year. Then again, they also …

There were positives in the ACC this weekend.

As usual, the media tried to tear down the ACC over a couple of results. I hate to pick on Andrea Adelson because she really does an excellent job covering the ACC, but the tweet below is the kind of thing the media does just to create a negative narrative. We legitimately might see an …

Louisville, back from the dead, crushes Wake Forest.

Think back 4 weeks ago as Louisville was coming off a disastrous 34-33 to a terrible Boston College team. How terrible are the Eagles? They just lost UCONN. After that loss, Louisville sat 2-3, with a brutal stretch of football for the Cardinal’s final 6 games. Scott Satterfield, let’s be honest, looked done as Louisville’s …

With the loss of starting of QB Devin Leary for the season, NC State’s outlook for the rest of the year looked bleak. Backup QB Jack Chambers gave good effort, but just couldn’t generate any offense for the Wolfpack. Against Virginia Tech Dave Doeren rolled the dice and went with true freshman MJ Morris briefly …

The ACC’s three biggest questions of week 9.

Can Syracuse put the Clemson loss behind them ahead of the game with Notre Dame?  Syracuse went to Clemson had had the Tigers on the ropes until the final seconds of the game. They proved a lot in that game, but Syracuse can’t let that game become two losses. Erratic, but talented Notre Dame is …

The ACC needs a national voice to promote the conference.

There is something very discouraging going on in the national college football media. They blasted the ACC the last few years, because the OOC results were terrible, and they were. There was no defending that. They said to win games and the respect will come, so teams from the ACC did win notable non-conference games …

Week 8 CFP Eliminator: Who Really has a Chance?

As we go through this week’s Eliminator, we have 24 teams still alive. Of those 24, though, less than a dozen are serious contenders. It’s looking more and more like we’re on a path to some runaway playoff teams this season. Clemson has survived its biggest challenges and looks pretty likely to finish undefeated. So …

Pollsters that drop Syracuse outside the top 20 are dumb.

Syracuse was 6-0 and ranked #14 coming into a big game at top 10 ranked and 7-0 Clemson. Clemson has been the standard in the ACC since 2015, and one of the premier programs in the country for a decade. Syracuse had a chance Saturday to prove they were for real. Critics or let me …

Cade or DJ? after Clemson survives Syracuse.

Clemson got the daylights scared out of themselves against Dino Babers and Syracuse Saturday. Since 2017, Syracuse has played Clemson 6 times, and 4 of the games including Saturday were decided by single digits with Syracuse winning the 2017 game. Syracuse led 21-10 in the 4th quarter before QB Cade Klubnik helped lead Clemson to …

Syracuse (6-0) – A+ Coming into the season Dino Babers was on the hot seat, and Syracuse was considered one the three worst teams in the ACC. Now they are 6-0 and ranked in the top 15. They’ve been opportunistic and played tough defense. Sean Tucker is a load at RB and the Cuse are …
