#3 Notre Dame  90 – #5 North Carolina  82

Well, nobody saw this coming, but the Notre Dame Fighting Irish won the #ACCTourney Conference Championship to seal the automatic bid for the conference. It goes without saying, this Notre Dame team is a well coached Mike Brey squad. The Irish finish the regular season 29-5, 14-4 in their second year as an ACC member.

It looked as though the Tar Heels would run away easily with this one in the 2nd half. Marcus Paige scored 22 of his 24 total points in the 2nd half. UNC led 63-54 with 9:59 remaining in the game when the Irish turned it on, going on a 22-3 run to turn a 9-point deficit into a 78-66 lead. The Irish never looked back after that, closing the game out with the victory.

All five Notre Dame starters scored in double figures. They made 10 three pointers and compiled 9 steals as a team. Jerian Grant led the way for the Irish with a double-double; 24 points and 10 assists. Grant was 15-18 from the free throw line as well. Pat Connaughton scored 20 points, shooting 4-5 from 3-pt range. Steve Vasturia was 3-6 from 3-pt range and finished with 14 points. Zach Auguste also had a double-double; 16 points, 13 rebounds (6 off). Demetrius Jackson finished with 11 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals.
