ACC Week 9 awards. The Good, The Bad and the Ugly.

If you can figure out another wacky and wild weekend in the ACC please let me know. Clemson goes down at Georgia Tech, and then what I feel was an even bigger shocker Boston College wins at Maryland. I didn’t see that BC win coming at all. Ok awards time… The Good No ball for …

ACC out of the BCS Title Race, but all is not lost.

Just some quick random thought tonight after Clemson’s stunning 31-17 loss at Georgia Tech. Tomorrow I’ll post the usual ACC weekly awards. With Clemson losing this evening the ACC is virtually eliminated from the BCS Title chase. Sadly the general fan feedback was that was just Clemson being Clemson, and the ACC is just mediocre …

Better for ACC Football, BCS Title Team or Several good teams?

ACC fans understand the conference is always fighting for national respect when it comes to football. This season the ACC has a team in the BCS Title conversation, the Clemson Tigers. The Tigers are ranked 6th in both major polls and 5th in the BCS Standings, and sit 8-0. There’s no question they’ve got a shot at …

Some Great Clemson\Georgia Tech moments of the past.

This game is special for me and one I consider one of the South’s most underrated rivalries. Having went to both schools, I know this rivalry well. It’s a pretty friendly one, but highly competitive. Rarely has this game had so much on the line. Clemson is right in the thick of the national title race, …

Articles from around the ACC Blogosphere October 25, 2011

Now we’re in the home stretch of the college football season. It goes far too fast… the good news is the ACC has a team (Clemson) in the national title hunt. That’s not something the ACC usually gets to get say this time of year. The ACC will also have the nations #1 basketball in …

Where does Texas Tech’s win over Oklahoma rank among College Football’s greatest upsets of the last 25 years?

When Texas Tech upset the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman, Oklahoma 41-38 Saturday Night, it was as a 28 point underdog. Yep you read that right the Sooners were favored to win that game by 4 Touchdowns, and lost at home. It was an upset that threw the BCS into total chaos, but I’m not sure it’s …

When your national title shot comes down to inches…

There’s one thing I guess the BCS creates, and that’s weeks before the national title game a handful inches can end a very good’s team national title hopes. When Michigan St. beat Wisconsin on a miracle Hail Mary pass in the final seconds of their game Saturday, the Badgers National Title Hopes effectively came to an …

ACC Week 8 awards. The Good, The Bad and the Ugly.

Rising and falling, that’s the theme in the ACC this weekend. Some teams continue to improve and get better. I’m talking to you Clemson, Virginia Tech, and Florida State, while some others specifically Georgia Tech and North Carolina are sinking so fast you barely remember 2 weeks ago they were 6-0 and 5-1. Awards time! …

Can the Clemson Tigers get to the National Title game?

I know I know… one game at a time, the Tigers haven’t even won the ACC yet, and technically not even the Atlantic division, but where’s the fun in that? How often in the last half-dozen years has an ACC team entered the 3rd week in October with a legitimate possibility to reach the National …

Not much time to blog today… but I got a couple of quick thoughts on the men’s basketball media day that was Wednesday. You can find the full coverage of the media day at theACC.com. No shocker the North Carolina Tar Heels were picked as the ACC favorite. Duke was second and Florida State. These are …

Who’s the better the freshman Wide Receiver Sammy Watkins or Calvin Johnson?

I think it’s safe to say that after 7 games, Clemson player Sammy Watkins is the best freshman Wide Receiver in the ACC, and probably the country. If there’s a better one, I’d like to see him. Heck he might be the best freshman at any position in the country. He’s made that great of an impact, in …

ACC Week 7 awards. The Good, The Bad and the Ugly.

After this past Saturday, I’m pretty much throwing out anything I thought previously about the ACC except Clemson is the best team in the ACC, and Virginia Tech always gets better as the season progresses. Here are the week 7 awards. The Good That’s how you respond Clemson was down 35-17 at Maryland in the 3rd quarter. …
