2023 Week 8 ACC Football Power Rankings

14. Virginia (1-5, 0-2)

Last Week – 14

The gap between Virginia and the next worst ACC team keeps growing. Virginia has no chance at UNC.

13. Wake Forest (3-3, 0-3)

Last Week – 10

Wake Forest’s offense can’t score, and this team is getting worse as the season progresses. Their season could fall apart if they lose to Pitt.

12. Syracuse (4-3, 0-3)

Last Week – 9

Syracuse finally finished a brutal stretch against Clemson, UNC, and FSU, but now get an improving Virginia Tech team after the BYE.

11. Pittsburgh (2-4, 1-2)

Last Week – 13

Pittsburgh came up with by far their best performance of the season in thumping Louisville. Can they build on it at Wake Forest?

10. Boston College (3-3, 1-2)

Last Week – 11

Boston College’s game with Georgia Tech is critical for both teams bowl hopes.

9. Virginia Tech (3-4, 2-1)

Last Week – 12

Virginia Tech has positioned themselves for a shot at a bowl after beating Wake Forest. They get an extra to prep for Syracuse.

8. NC State (4-3, 1-2)

Last Week – 7

NC State got rolled against Duke team and their backup QB that completed 4 passes. They have a lot to fix during the BYE week.

7. Miami (4-2, 1-2)

Last Week – 6

Miami looks like a broken team after the stunning loss to Georgia Tech and the total beatdown to UNC. If they can’t beat Clemson next week, the season might be lost.

6. Georgia Tech (3-3, 2-1)

Last Week – 8

Georgia Tech gets this spot sort of by default. They can earn it they get over .500 by taking care of Boston College.

5. Louisville (6-1, 3-1)

Last Week – 3

Louisville’s win over a Notre Dame team that just wasted USC won’t be forgotten, but they came crashing back down to earth in an ugly performance against Pitt. They need the BYE week to reset.

4. Clemson (4-2, 2-2)

Last Week – 5

I still don’t know if Clemson is much better since week 1 considering Syracuse has lost 3 in a row, and they barely beat Wake Forest. They need to show something against Miami to prove they are on track.

3. Duke (5-1, 2-0)

Last Week – 4

Duke’s defense came up big against NC State, but they need Riley Leonard in a monster game with FSU next.

2. North Carolina (6-0, 3-0)

Last Week – 2

North Carolina is for real. The defense is pretty tough, and the offense is just now starting to peak. They’ll feast on Virginia.

1. Florida State (6-0, 4-0)

Last Week – 1

Florida State continues to roll after erasing Syracuse. Duke could provide a real test to the Noles especially if Riley Leonard returns.
