Ranking the 5 best Wide Receivers in the ACC for 2023.

Well, here we go. It’s time to start ranking the best players in the ACC for the 2023 season.

As usual, we hope you enjoy the rankings.

Previous and Upcoming Rankings

Quarterbacks | Running Backs | Offensive Linemen | Tight Ends |
Defensive Linemen |  Linebackers | Cornerbacks | Safeties | Special Teams

1) Johnny Wilson, Florida State

WR Johnny Wilson gives Florida State its third top 2 player in our position rankings. The scary part for the ACC is we are only through three positions. Wilson had a strong 2022 with 43 receptions for 897 yards, and at 6-7, he’s a nightmare matchup for defensive backs.

He’s considered a day 2 NFL draft prospect, but if his hands can improve just a bit more he might find himself moving up to day 1. I’m expecting a 1000+ yard season from Wilson especially with a QB Like Jordan Travis throwing to him.

2) Jalon Calhoun, Duke

Duke has one sneaky good offense if you aren’t paying attention. Already with solid QB Riley Leonard, they have top-notch WR Jalon Calhoun as well. Calhoun is coming off a 62 reception 873-yard season with 4 TDs.

Pro Football Network calls him a slot magician.  He’s listed as one of the top 20 draftable receivers for 2024.

3) Jahmal Banks, Wake Forest

Jahmal Banks and Donvan Greene form the ACC’s best-receiving duo. Banks had 42 catches for 636 parts and 9 TDs last season. He has a good size 6-4 with solid hands making him a difficult matchup for defenses.

There is no Sam Hartman at QB or A.T. Perry as the go-to WR, but I think Banks and Greene can fill in just fine.

4) Donovan Greene, Wake Forest

If Banks doesn’t get you at one WR spot, then Donovan Greene is right there. Last season he Greene came up with 37 catches for 642 yards and 6 TDs. That’s over 1200 yards of receiving production between Banks and Greene.

What will those numbers look like without Perry? Could Banks and Greene approach 2000 yards? Greene was considered one of the best WR signees in Wake Forest history, and he’s just starting to touch the surface of that potential.

5) Antonio Williams, Clemson

Clemson needs a go-to receiver to truly step up in 2023. Antonio Williams might be ready to be that guy. Williams had 56 catches to 604 yards receiving  and 4 TDs in a strong freshman year. With a new QB in Cade Klubnik and OC with Garrett Riley, the Clemson offense may be its best since 2020.

He’s just a sophomore and could be ready for a breakout season.
