Is it time to time to worry? No it’s not, and here’s why.<\/p>\n<p>Let’s go back to the successful launch of the SEC Network. Remember the SEC launched on August, 14 2014.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.secsports.com\/article\/11316088\/charter-adding-sec-network\">Charter signed on August 6, 2014<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/college\/2014\/07\/09\/cox-communications-sec-network-espn\/12404707\/\">Cox Communications signed on July 9, 2014<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.orlandosentinel.com\/sports\/florida-gators\/os-comcast-sec-network-20140718-story.html\">Comcast signed on July 18, 2014<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cableone.net\/press\/Pages\/CableONEAddsSECNetworktoChannelLineUp.aspx\">CableOne signed on August 1, 2014<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montgomeryadvertiser.com\/story\/news\/2014\/08\/01\/wow-gets-sec-channel\/13472715\/\">WOW signed on August 1, 2014<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ajc.com\/blog\/radiotvtalk\/directv-signs-sec-network-final-major-satellite-cable-provider-pick\/xSNk2npwNtJILtBKjLgrwN\/\">DirectTV signed on August 5, 2014<\/a><\/p>\n<p>That’s a lot of distribution deals signed between July and August.<\/p>\n<p>Pitt AD Heather Lyke doesn’t seem <a href=\"https:\/\/www.post-gazette.com\/sports\/Pitt\/2019\/06\/05\/pitt-panthers-athletics-heather-lyke-acc-network\/stories\/201906050136\">concerned in this article in the PostGazette.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u201cESPN, they\u2019re doing a terrific job, but it will be very intense between now and Aug. 22 to see which cable companies pick it up,\u201d Lyke said. \u201cWe feel like we\u2019re in a really good position.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>The ACC\u2019s current predicament isn\u2019t exactly uncommon. Lyke noted that the Big Ten Network\u00a0\u2014 the standard-bearer of conference-centric channels that has helped make the Big Ten, by far, the most profitable league in college athletics\u00a0\u2014 wasn\u2019t picked up by Comcast until 18 months after it had launched in 2007 (the two sides also settled a carriage dispute last September).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t call your cable provider and demand the ACC Network. That’s the only way they’ll know you want it.
