The Pac 12 should just invite San Diego State already.

Last month we wrote about how the Pac 12 struggled to control the narrative of their recent TV negotiations and realignment activities. When it comes to PR only the Pac 12 does as poor a job as the ACC.

Over the last several months most of the realignment rumors have been pure non-sense, not even worth addressing.

There is one thing though that the Pac 12 could do that really would get people to pay attention, but they have to do it within the next week.

Just invite San Diego State already.

This might be one of the most realistic most no bainer moves of the last 10 years in realignment.

With the departure of USC and UCLA, the Pac-12 without a presence in Southern California is like the ACC without a school in North Carolina.

Now San Diego State just played in the men’s basketball national title game against Connecticut.

The last Pac-12 team to play in the national title game was in 2006.

If the Pac-12 would have invited San Diego State on the Sunday before the title game, it would have been even more impressive.

That didn’t happen, but the Pac-12 still can make a bold move – for all the reasons below.

The perception win is big. As a casual outside observer of the Pac-12, it’s the move that needs to be made.

Just go ahead and make the invite Pac 12.
