Basketball and Baseball may be the hidden keys to starting the ACC Network.

In 2014, ACC basketball will have the greatest collection of coaches ever.

A few days ago Duke head basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski said this about the future of ACC basketball… “We’re going to be a 10-bid conference,” Krzyzewski said. “We’re going to be the best conference in the history of the game.”  I’m not sure about that. In 1985 the Big East had 3 Final 4 teams. …

Thoughts on the SEC Network and the ACC’s possible Bowl lineup

So why did ESPN agree to a new TV deal and a likely conference network with the ACC?

Plenty has been written the last few days about the ACC and their new GOR deal.  The reasons for the ACC doing this are obvious… to provide and prove the stability conference. Without ESPN though, I don’t believe a GOR is possible. As we’ve said, before the ACC schools all committed to a long term agreement, …

Friday a story appeared on CBS Sportsline that the ACC is considering playing game in Europe.  My first reaction was WHUT THE? Details emerge how John Swofford got Florida State to sign the Grant of Rights.

On Monday we said it was time to give John Swofford his due in securing the ACC’s future.  Depending on who you ask either John Swofford pulled the proverbial rabbit out of hat that saved an ACC that was weeks from imploding or the other train of thought, and the one I believed,  that nobody was …

With a Grant of Rights in hand and the ACC’s future secure, it is time to give John Swofford his due.

Monday it was announced the ACC’s 15 future schools had signed a Grant of Rights. This effectively ends any further discussion of an ACC team leaving for the duration of the ACC’s television contract that runs through 2027. You can find the official announcement at theACC.com.  For me as a fan of Georgia Tech and Clemson, …
