Virginia stakes it claim as the country’s best team after win at Duke.

I’d been looking forward to watching this Virginia Duke game all week. Acc writer David Teel said it was a game to savor.  It lived up to the hype. A top 5 matchup that had it all, and after Virginia won 65-63 at Duke the Hoos can legitimately claim it is the country’s best team. Villanova and …

Is Danny Manning the man at Wake Forest?

Well, we here at All Sports Discussion were asked about Danny Manning and if he was the answer at Wake Forest. Well, it took me a week to look into this issue and I have come to the conclusion that he is! Danny Manning is in his 4th year in Winston-Salem. He has turned around …

@DavidTeelatDP is right to call Virginia Duke a game to savor.

Saturday afternoon 2 PM, the ACC’s game of the year and arguably the regular season national game of the year will be played on CBS. It’s Virginia and Duke. Esteemed ACC writer @DavidTeelatDP   calls it a game to savor in a recent piece he wrote.  He’s right too. From his article… How will No. 2 Virginia manage the …

Time to appreciate what Virginia basketball can do on defense.

In the ACC’s basketball pre-season basketball poll, Virginia was predicted to finish 6th.  That’s not bad. If Virginia finishes 6th in the ACC, they’ll make the NCAA tournament. With the recent success of Virginia basketball, though that’s sounds like a little bit of a rebuilding year. The Hoos haven’t finished lower than 5th in the ACC …

ACC fans won’t have to suffer with Blackout problems of their favorite teams much longer.

Today a good friend of the blog @KilroyFSU, wanted to watched his Florida State Seminoles play the Louisville Cardinals in men’s basketball. He was in Jacksonville, Florida.  Getting a bit concerned that this hotel in Jacksonville doesn’t have channel 4 which is where I think the FSU-Louisville game will be on. — KilroyFSU (@KilroyFSU) January 11, …

Let Central Florida have their National Championship fun.

Central Florida just completed the greatest season in their football program’s history. They went 13-0 after beating Auburn 34-27 in the Chick-fil-A bowl, who by the way defeated both teams Alabama\Georgia who are playing the national title game. The Golden Knights are the only undefeated untied  team in FBS football. Does Central Florida have an …

Could the ACC get 11 NCAA tournament teams?

I’ll be doing my ACC Bubble Analysis in the next day or two, but according to ESPN the ACC getting 11 NCAA tournament teams would happen if the tournament were this week. John Swofford would certainly be pleased about that, and I can certainly see the ACC getting double digit NCAA entries due to a …
