Breaking down the conferences and the top 100 College Basketball Recruits of 2012.

Recently 2 of the nation’s top recruits Shabazz Muhammad and Nerlens Noel made their college choices known. Muhammad is headed to UCLA and Noel to Kentucky. That means 91 of the top 100 high school basketball players have made their college choice. Here is the top 100 list from CNNSI. Even in the one and done era you win with talent. …

Ranking the ACC Basketball Coaches

I’m kind of Petrinoed out at the moment. I think the rest of internet has it pretty well covered. Bold move by Arkansas, it showed that some schools are more interested in the integrity of their programs than just winning footballs games. Now ask the question again if the Razorbacks go 7-6. I don’t envy Arkansas’s AD Jeff Long… he …

Articles from around the ACC Blogosphere April 9, 2012

The top story of the week for the ACC Blogger’s has to been Boston College’s National Title in Hockey. BCInterruption discusses the Eagle’s coach Jerry York and his legacy in Boston sports in an interesting piece. ShakintheSouthland gives an in depth season review of Clemson’s basketball season. I think Brad Brownell did a credible job …

Congratulations to Boston College on the National Title in Hockey.

I don’t claim to be that knowledgable in the sport of collegiate hockey. I did know the Frozen Four was this weekend and featured the Boston College Eagles. Well Boston College took home the National Title tonight with 4-1 victory over Ferris State. For that Congratulations to the Boston College Eagles and their fans! Now …

Ranking the last 10 College Basketball National Title Teams.

Kentucky’s recent national championship victory raised some questions about just how good was this Wildcat team. Could they beat the 2003 Connecticut team featuring Emeka Okafor or the Tyler Hansbrough led 2009 North Carolina team? Certainly Anthony Davis is one of the best freshman defensive big men I’ve ever seen. Of course we’ll never know …

Paul Johnson has a quarterback dilemma at Georgia Tech.

Recently the Atlanta Journal Constitution discussed the quarterback competition at Georgia Tech between the incumbent Tevin Washington, and backups Synjyn Days, and Vad Lee. Competition is never a bad thing, but this has created a real dilemma for Paul Johnson. Johnson isn’t on any hotseat, but there is a little restlessness among the Yellow Jacket …

Way too Absurdly Early Pre-Season College Basketball Rankings for 2012-2013.

After Kentucky’s national title victory Monday night, I was curious how that Wildcat team stacked up against the last few National Title teams. That’s taking me a little time to go through and write. In the meantime, I’ve got some Way too Early Pre-Season College Basketball Rankings for you to take a look at. I …

So I guess everyone saw Kentucky win the national title Monday night. I’m not a John Calipari fan, but Anthony Davis is the best defensive big man in over a decade. Congratulations to Kentucky on a well deserved title. Ok time to see what’s happening with the bloggers of the ACC. TarHeelFan blog updates us …

Ranking the ACC Football Coaches

Not too long ago we went through the Athlon Sports Ranking of the ACC Coaches. These were rankings in large part I didn’t agree with. Some of the comments I had there I’ll elaborate on now when I rank the ACC coaches for a little spring football reading. 1. Frank Beamer, Virginia Tech What I …

How Frank Martin’s hiring at South Carolina could affect the ACC.

There was a hiring move this week that frankly floored me and that I think has farther reaching implications than may appear on the surface. Implications that I discussed  with FSU Fan @saintwarrick and Georgia Tech fan @younglefhander on twitter. South Carolina lured away Kansas State head basketball coach Frank Martin to coach in Columbia. …

Grading the ACC’s NCAA Tournament.

Considering I’m writing this article summarizing the ACC’s performance in the NCAAs and the tournament is not yet over is probably not a good sign. This means for the 2nd straight year the ACC didn’t put a team into the Final 4. That is basically like forgetting to do the last page of the final …

The Tar Heels apparently should head back to Chapel Hill without playing Kansas.

Judging by the national media out there, North Carolina doesn’t have a chance against Kansas Sunday without a healthy Kendal Marshall. ESPN’s Doug Gottlieb says “I mean, they’ll get out of St. Louis, But they’ll be going back to Chapel Hill.” Pat Forde of Yahoo Sports wrote, “North Carolina survived (barely) and advanced (on its …

Don’t count North Carolina out just yet for the National Title.

Without a healthy Kendall Marshall, North Carolina’s National Title and Final 4 hopes are finished right? I mean a team can’t possibly overcome the injury of such a valuable player, especially with possibility of playing a Kentucky or a Kansas to win a championship right? I think history provides some hope to North Carolina fans. …
