Gameday chooses Boston College vs Clemson – BC gets their showcase.

When you are Ohio State or Alabama and you’ve been on Gameday a million times, it is not a big deal. Clemson has been on Gameday plenty too. When you are Boston College and trying to build a brand, it is a very big deal. BOSTON COLLEGE GET READY! College GameDay AND Saturday Night Football …

Is 2018 Louisville the worst ACC football team of the last 25 years?

I was at the Clemson Louisville game today, and what I saw from Louisville had me thinking hard if there has ever been a worse ACC team – at least in the last 25 years. Calling the game a simple blowout would be a big understatement. Louisville was so over-matched in this 77-16 blowout, that …

Georgia Tech fights off 4th quarter struggles , and still has a bowl game in sight.

It can become very difficult to break a pattern. When you are Clemson and Alabama, you seem to just find ways to win games even when you are not at your best. When you are Georgia Tech, you’ve got a pattern too – and in the last two years it’s been losing games when you …

Ranking the Power 5 Football Conferences after Week 9

While the playoff committee doesn’t rank the power 5 conference, there is no way conference strength – which means OOC results doesn’t figure in to a committee members thought process. Let me point out on my philosophy on these rankings – your most recent  OOC results count a lot, and you’ll see me reference that …

Clemson vs Louisville is one of the ACC’s biggest point spreads in the past 20 years. What were others?

The game this weekend between Clemson and Louisville looks like one of the biggest mis-matches in recent ACC history. The current spread is Clemson -39, but is that the biggest spread between two ACC teams the last 20 years? I asked this question on twitter, and got some eye opening responses. Thanks for those that …

Syracuse’s offense continues to roll after dropping 51 on NC State.

NC State fans are quick to blame their defense after Syracuse dropped 51 on them. They should be mad too, but there’s some context to what happened. Nobody has stopped the Syracuse offense all season, except for Clemson pulling the trick in the 2nd half of their game. That Clemson defense is arguably the nation’s …

It couldn’t get worse for Louisville football, but it did against Wake Forest.

How bad is Louisville playing right now? It’s as bad as Clemson is playing good. Today Louisville played Wake Forest, the only other winless team team in the ACC at home. It was likely the Cardinals last opportunity for a victory this season. They lost their 5th game of the season by 18 or more …

Clemson vaporizes Florida State, and is currently destroying everything in their path.

If there is any concern about Clemson football, it’s that could peaking too soon… I guess. Such is the concern of fanbase that is currently on 183-27 scoring run since halftime of the Syracuse game. Averaged out over the course of a whole game Clemson is beating their opponents roughly 52-7 since this dominant run …

Instant GT vs VT Reaction : Georgia Tech proves me wrong and Virginia Tech lacks toughness

I’m a scarred Georgia Tech fan. I’ve seen so many blown leads, so many 2 minute end of the half scores by opposing offenses, and so many sloppy turnovers on offense the last 2 years. After Virginia Tech’s quick under 2 minute score with their first possession, I tweeted this. I know most Georgia Tech …

Blowout to Clemson won’t define NC State’s season.

I was at the Clemson NC State game today, and Clemson hammered NC State. Any illusion that NC State was ready to beat the ACC’s top dog today was wiped out in an onslaught of Clemson’s superior talent and depth. The Wolfpack were no match for the Tigers in a 41-7 blowout. Blog Contributor James …
