Blowout to Clemson won’t define NC State’s season.

I was at the Clemson NC State game today, and Clemson hammered NC State. Any illusion that NC State was ready to beat the ACC’s top dog today was wiped out in an onslaught of Clemson’s superior talent and depth. The Wolfpack were no match for the Tigers in a 41-7 blowout. Blog Contributor James …

Time to really take notice of Virginia football after win over Duke.

There’s something going on at Virginia, that’s caught a lot us of by surprise. Virginia Cavalier football is legitimately pretty good. After a 28-14 win at Duke, you need to start paying attention to what Bronco Mendenhall is doing. Last week Virginia upset Miami. It was a big win for the Hoos, but upsets happen. …

Ranking the Power 5 Football Conferences after Week 7

While the playoff committee doesn’t rank the power 5 conference, there is no way conference strength – which means OOC results doesn’t figure in to a committee members thought process. Let me point out on my philosophy on these rankings – your most recent  OOC results count a lot, and you’ll see me reference that …

Mid-Season grades for each ACC football team.

NC State : A+ I would have liked to see the Wolfpack play West Virginia, but NC State has done everything that’s been asked of them to this point at 5-0. They play Saturday against Clemson for a chance to make a national splash. QB Ryan Finley is playing at an extremely high level. Dave …

Well they did it… CollegeGameDay is not going to Clemson, SC for the biggest ACC game of the year. 6-0 Clemson in the top 5 and in the thick of the playoff chase, will face off against 5-0 and top 25 ranked NC State. CollegeGameDay and ESPN blow it off for this… @CollegeGameDay going a …

Miami’s Mark Richt coaches to lose to Virginia

With the ACC Coastal for the taking, Miami should have basically cruised though their schedule until a November date with Virginia Tech – at least if you believe pre-season rankings. Coming of a 10 win season that saw the Canes reach the top 5 at one point, 2018 was looked to be another step in …

What to make of Virginia Tech after getting routed by Notre Dame.

Everything we’ve seen from Virginia Tech during the early part of the season was on display against Notre Dame. At times Virginia Tech looked sloppy, undisciplined, and athletically inferior to Notre Dame. At other times Virginia Tech looked aggressive on offense, stifling on defense, and in general had the feel of a top 25 team. …

Miami’s incredible comeback against Florida State adds to Nole’s misery.

I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t watched it. Miami was down 27-7 to Florida State in the 3rd quarter. The Noles had played by far their best 40 minutes of the season. The offensive line was actually blocking. FSU’s defense was making plays and stifling the Miami offense. I thought Miami was dead. …

Instant Reaction : Georgia Tech vs Louisville – Hope in Atlanta, Petrino’s seat on fire.

One thing that’s never happened in Paul Johnson’s tenure… He’s never had a team quit on him. After another blown lead against South Florida, a sloppy performance against Pitt, then a blowout to Clemson, Georgia Tech sat 1-3 and the season was on the brink of a disaster. Suddenly after scoring more than 120 points …
