Clemson isn’t just very good anymore, they are becoming a dynasty.

So many thoughts on Clemson’s absolute destruction of Alabama 44-16. I will be writing more tomorrow, but for tonight all I can think of is Clemson has now entered dynasty territory. They are up there with the great Miami teams of the 80s and early 90s, FSU and Nebraska in the 90s, USC in the …

Watch Duke’s Zion Williamson and Louisville’s Jordan Nwora with potential dunks of the year.

You won’t see two better dunks this year than this weekend’s dunks by Duke’s Zion Williamson and Louisville’s Jordan Nwora. Nwora’s one handed ally-oop dunk was every bit as impressive as Williamson’s incredibly athletic 360 dunk. If we’re going to see stuff like this every week in the ACC, it’s going to be a great …

NCAA Tournament Projections for each ACC team – January 6, 2019

This is going to be a weekly article, where I seed the ACC teams and where I think they’d should be placed if the tournament started the same day as my posting. In my ranking system, any RPI top (100) win is a good win and any RPI top (50) obviously worth more. Any …

2019 ACC Baseball Preview via (College Baseball Daily) @CB_Daily

Football season has just 1 game left. The national title game with Clemson facing off against Alabama. College basketball is starting to get in full swing with the ACC looking as strong as ever. Duke and Virginia look like national title contenders. Another sport where the ACC should be very solid in is College Baseball. …

Around the #ACC Blogosphere For January 4, 2019

It’s on to the national title game for the Clemson football team. ShakintheSouthland has a statistical breakdown of the big game with Alabama.   ACCPrescription has some current ACC Network notes in one spot. It’s worth a read, because it combines some of the latest information from several sources. Should Georgia Tech look for transfer QB? …

With their current PR mess, what the Pac 12 can learn from ACC.

Even though I don’t have a rooting interest in a Pac 12 team, I am fascinated by what’s going on out there in that conference. There is a great article from OregonLive.com that details the Pac 12 hiring of PR Firm to help with their brand.  Here are a couple of highlights from that article. The …

NC State hammered by Texas A&M in bowl, still looks for signature OOC win.

It’s hard to be too critical of a program that’s won 18 games the last two years. If you are Clemson or Alabama, then maybe you complain. If you are NC State that means you are mostly beating the teams you should beat. That said there is still an emptiness to the Wolfpack’s 9-4 year. …

After Bowl Loss and 7-7 season, How should Pittsburgh feel about season?

Pittsburgh won the Coastal Division and went 6-2 in the ACC. They lost 7 games including their last 3 and got blown out by Penn State, UCF, and Clemson. They blew a 4th quarter lead in the Sun Bowl to Stanford to lose 14-13. For almost every ACC team, there’s a line that said we’re happy with or not with our year. Pittsburgh more than any other ACC team it’s hard to decide exactly how they should feel about the 2018 season. …

Justin Fuente coaching blunders send Virginia Tech to a bowl loss and a losing season.

It’s been a rough season at Virginia Tech – attrition, injuries, young and inexperienced on defense. There have been historically bad home losses too, but with recent wins over Virginia and Marshall, Virginia Tech got bowl eligible. They had a chance to salvage something out of the season. After a 35-31 loss to Cincinnati, the Hokies still have their bowl streak and winning streak over Virginia intact. That’s all after their first losing season (6-7) in 25 years. If you are Hokie fan you have to be frustrated by Justin Fuente’s two …

Disney-ESPN and Verizon reach distribution deal, and it includes the ACC Network.

If you are a follow of the blog, you know we’ve tacked the progression of the ACC Network from the beginning. You also know ACC Network news comes in waves. Clemson’s freight train of domination continues with playoff route of Notre Dame.

A few years ago, Clemson was chasing Florida State in the ACC. Then it was Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State and Florida State as college football’s elite programs. Now it’s Clemson and their only true peer Alabama. The Tigers faced a Notre Dame team that swore it was different from it’s predecessors. This was the Irish …

Virginia’s rebuild adds another step after stunning bowl blowout of South Carolina.

I’ll be honest. I didn’t think the Belk Bowl was a good matchup for Virginia. The Hoos were coming off 2 heartbreaking OT losses, including to arch-rival Virginia Tech. South Carolina had just shredded an elite Clemson defense to pieces, and their QB Jake Bentley looked like a future NFL QB. The game was just …

Syracuse and Dino Babers finish magical season with bowl win over West Virginia.

During the Syracuse vs West Virginia bowl game all we heard from the announcers was about Will Grier not playing QB for WVU. I won’t argue it was a factor, but let’s not forget Syracuse was without an All-ACC defensive lineman Alton Robinson and another on their two-deep Mckinley Williams. If you are discounting the …

Forgettable season and bowl blowout will give Miami’s Mark Richt an uncomfortable off-season.

Thank goodness Mark Richt has 2 straight wins over Florida State because since a regular season loss to Pittsburgh to end the 2017 regular season it’s just gone downhill for Miami. Since a 10-1 2017 start Miami, is 4-9 against against Power 5 opponents. That’s not just unacceptable at Miami, that’s unacceptable anywhere. In year 3 …
