March 9, 2025 ACC Basketball Power Rankings

18. Miami   (7-24, 3-17) NET – 226, RPI – 282

Last Week: 18

Miami actually won their final game against NC State, but the season is done for the Canes. It’s time to find a permanent coach.

17. Boston College (12-19, 4-16) NET – 203, RPI – 257

Last Week: 17

Why is Earl Grant being retained at Boston College? Asking for a friend…

16. NC State (12-19, 5-15) NET – 133, RPI – 245

Last week:  16

Kevin Keatts is done at NC State a year after the Final 4. The defending ACC Champion won’t be at the ACC Tournament.

15. California  (13-18, 6-14) NET – 127, RPI – 203

Last Week: 17

Cal has won 1 game since February 5th. The season has been a blur of bad basketball.

14. Syracuse (13-18, 7-13) NET – 132, RPI – 173

Last Week: 14

Syracuse showed no development or growth in Adrian Autry’s second season.

13. Notre Dame (14-17, 8-12) NET – 100, RPI – 178

Last Week : 13

Notre Dame finished the season with wins over Stanford and Cal. Could they be a darkhorse in the ACCT to pull an upset or two?

12. Virginia (15-16, 8-12) NET – 105, RPI – 113

Last Week: 12

What would Virginia’s record be had Tony Bennett been the coach? They really missed him.

11. Virginia Tech (13-18, 8-12) NET – 164, RPI – 191

Last Week: 10

Virginia Tech limped home losing 3 of their last 4 games.

10. Florida State (17-14, 8-12) NET – 89, RPI – 116

Last Week: 11

FSU gave Leonard Hamilton a win in his final regular season game against SMU.

9. Pittsburgh (17-14, 8-12) NET – 60, RPI – 91

Last Week: 9

Just like Wake Forest, where was Pittsburgh’s final game effort the previous several weeks. They played so well against BC, and they needed more of that in February.

8. Georgia Tech (16-15, 10-10) NET – 116, RPI – 180

Last Week: 8

Georgia Tech when they are on they are on, and when they are off they are way off.

7. Stanford (19-12, 11-9) NET – 82, RPI – 71

Last Week: 6

Stanford just seemed to run out of gas in their final 2 games against Notre Dame and Louisville on the road.

6. Wake Forest (21-10, 13-7) NET – 68, RPI- 61

Last week: 7

Where was the play Wake Forest showed against Georgia Tech the last 3 weeks? They have to reach the finals of the ACCT to have an at large NCAA shot.

5. SMU (22-9, 13-7) NET – 49, RPI – 65

Last Week: 4

SMU losing at FSU really put them in a bit of trouble. They’ll need a run in the ACCT

4. UNC  (20-12, 13-7) NET – 40, RPI – 34

Last Week: 5

UNC could not get the massive win over Duke they needed, but I don’t think they are that far off from the NCAAs. They need at least 2 wins for the big dance.

3. Louisville  (25-6, 18-2) NET – 23, RPI – 18

Last Week: 3

Louisville’s remarkable season just continues. You don’t want any part of the Cardinals who are the ACC Tournament’s #2 seed.

2. Clemson (26-5, 18-2) NET – 22, RPI – 15

Last Week: 2

Clemson continues to just roll. On to the ACC tournament where Clemson will be one of the favorites.

1. Duke (28-3, 19-1) NET – 1, RPI – 5

Last Week: 1

Duke got pushed a bit by UNC on the road, and that just made them mad. With Auburn starting to slip, there isn’t a better team in the country at the moment.
