For the first time in months, I considered moving Miami off the bottom of this power poll ahead of Boston College. They go to FSU and host Virginia Tech. They are showing some signs of life.
17. Boston College (10-15, 2-12) NET – 225, RPI – 255
Last Week: 17
Boston College is reeling as their losing streak has reached 4 games. They are at home for Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech.
16. NC State (10-15, 3-11) NET – 124, RPI – 236
Last week: 16
NC State won their first game since January 8 beating Boston College. That keeps them from the bottom 2 where they were headed. They are on the road at UNC then back home for Wake Forest.
15. California (12-14, 5-10) NET – 125, RPI – 184
Last Week: 13
Cal has lost 5 of their last 6 games. The OT loss to Georgia Tech was especially tough after leading by 5. They head to Stanford this week.
14. Syracuse (11-15, 5-8) NET – 149, RPI – 165
Last Week: 12
Syracuse losing to Miami is completely unacceptable. They go to Pitt and it could be their third loss in a row.
13. Notre Dame (11-14, 5-8) NET – 98, RPI – 196
Last Week : 15
Notre Dame hosts SMU, and Pittsburgh. They could wreck NCAA seedings and resumes this week.
12. Florida State (15-10, 6-8) NET – 88, RPI – 111
Last Week: 14
FSU’s win at Wake Forest was stunning, but they were brought back to earth getting hammered by Clemson. The host Miami then go to Louisville this week.
11. Virginia Tech (11-14, 6-8) NET – 156, RPI – 186
Last Week: 9
The Hokies took a tough loss at home to Virginia and now have lost 2 of 3. They go on the road to Boston College and Miami this week.
10. Virginia (13-12, 6-8) NET – 104, RPI – 114
Last Week: 11
Virginia is playing their best basketball of the year. They have won 3 games in a row and can play spoiler now. They host Duke and head to UNC.
9. Stanford (16-10, 8-7) NET – 84, RPI – 70
Last Week: 7
Stanford has lost 4 of their last 5 games, and is off the at-large NCAA radar. If they win out, it’s their only chance to get in the discussion. Cal is this week.
8. Georgia Tech (13-13, 7-8) NET – 121, RPI – 192
Last Week: 10
Georgia Tech continues to play solid basketball even with a depleted roster. They swept Stanford and Cal this week. Next week is a game at BC, that could even their ACC record. Nait Geeorge is the most underrated PG in the league.
7. Pittsburgh (15-10, 6-8) NET – 51, RPI – 58
Last Week: 8
Pittsburgh finally broke their 4 game losing streak beating Miami. Now they need to go on a winning streak. Syracuse and Notre Dame are must-wins.
6. UNC (15-11, 8-6) NET – 47, RPI – 30
Last Week: 6
UNC got blown at Clemson but won at Syracuse. If they are going to make a NCAA move it starts now. They have to sweep NC State and Virginia at home.

5. SMU (19-6, 10-4) NET – 41, RPI – 53
Last Week: 4
SMU had a couple of injuries in losing a critical game to Wake Forest, but the week ahead could make or break their NCAA chances. They go to Notre Dame and then host Clemson. If they could get both, they’d be on the right side of the bubble.
4. Wake Forest (19-7, 11-4) NET – 60, RPI- 42
Last week: 5
It was a wild week for Wake Forest. They blew a double digit lead at home to FSU under 10 minutes left, but then pick up a Q1 win at SMU. They can not afford to drop one at NC State on Saturday.
3. Louisville (20-6, 13-2) NET – 29, RPI – 21
Last Week: 3
Louisville cruised at Notre Dame on Sunday, and now they host FSU. The Cards are playing for NCAA seeding so they have to keep the momentum going.
2. Clemson (21-5, 13-2) NET – 26, RPI – 20
Last Week: 2
Clemson played like a top 10 team this week destroying UNC and FSU. They get a week off before playing an SMU team hungry for a big win.
1. Duke (22-3, 14-1) NET – 2, RPI – 6
Last Week: 1
Duke got right by blowing out Cal and Stanford this week by more than 20. The week is intriguing. Duke plays at an improved Virginia, then they go to New York City to play a NCAA-caliber Illinois team.
