January 26, 2025 ACC Basketball Power Rankings

18. Miami   (4-16, 0-9) NET – 240, RPI – 281

Last Week: 18

There is not a single positive thing you can say about Miami’s season. They get Virginia and Notre Dame at home this week, so they have a shot at their first ACC win.

17. Boston College (9-11, 1-8) NET – 224, RPI – 241

Last Week: 17

How Boston College blew a late lead at UNC was stunning. Florida State comes to BC this week.

16. Virginia (9-11, 2-7) NET – 138, RPI – 141

Last Week: 15

Virginia is better than the bottom two teams on this list. That’s the nicest thing I can say about the Hoos right now. They go to Miami and get Virginia Tech at home.

15. NC State (9-10, 2-6) NET – 120, RPI – 227

Last week:  13

NC State is 1 point from being winless this calendar year. Now they head to Duke and host Clemson. Good luck Wolfpack.

14. Virginia Tech (8-12, 3-6) NET – 187, RPI – 214

Last Week: 11

Virginia Tech has lost three games in a row, and this week they go on the road to FSU and Virginia.

13. Georgia Tech (9-11, 3-5) NET – 151, RPI – 244

Last Week: 16

I really wonder what Georgia Tech would look like if they could start to get healthy. They did beat Virginia Tech this past week. Upcoming is a game at Notre Dame then a redhot Louisville team.

12. Notre Dame (9-10, 3-5) NET – 88, RPI – 177

Last Week : 14

Notre Dame cruised at Virginia, and this week gives them a chance to go on a little run with games against Georgia Tech and Miami.

11. Syracuse (9-11, 3-6) NET – 146, RPI – 146

Last Week: 10

Syracuse went 0-2 this past week losing to Clemson and Pitt and now has the west coast swing to Stanford and Cal.

10. Florida State (13-7, 4-5) NET – 75, RPI – 76

Last Week: 9

For just a moment FSU was thinking about the bubble, then they went 0-2 at Cal and Stanford. They have Virginia Tech at home and then go to Boston College. The NIT is the more likely goal now.

9. California  (11-9, 4-5) NET – 117, RPI – 142

Last Week: 12

Cal is too far back to be in NCAA consideration, but they’ve won three games in a row, which moves them up. They play at SMU and host Syracuse this week.

8. UNC  (13-8, 6-3) NET – 40, RPI – 25

Last Week: 8

With games at Pitt and at Duke this week, UNC could make or break they NCAA chances. The way they played against Boston College barely winning doesn’t inspire much confidence.

7. Stanford (14-6, 6-3) NET – 70, RPI – 54

Last Week: 7

Stanford is just off the NCAA radar. If they beat Syracuse at home then get SMU on the road, they will be squarely on the bubble.

6. Wake Forest (15-5, 7-2) NET – 71, RPI- 56

Last week: 6

Wake Forest led Duke late but couldn’t close the deal. A win there would have been enormous. A game at Louisivlle is another chance at a Q1 win, then they get Pitt at home.

5. Pittsburgh (13-6, 4-4) NET – 36, RPI – 32

Last Week: 5

Pittsburgh stays in the field this week by a nose. They can’t fall below .500 in league with UNC and a game at Wake Forest upcoming.

4. SMU (15-5, 6-3) NET – 44, RPI – 59

Last Week: 4

SMU continues to beat who they are supposed to, but they need quality wins and couldn’t get one last week against Louisville. This week they host Cal and Stanford, and they need a sweep.

3. Clemson (17-4, 9-1) NET – 30, RPI – 23

Last Week: 3

Clemson has won 5 games in a row, and should be ranked in the top 25. They go to NC State on Saturday and need to keep the momentum going.

2. Louisville  (15-5, 8-1) NET – 25, RPI – 15

Last Week: 2

Louisville looked really impressive blowing out SMU at SMU. This week they host Wake Forest and got to Georgia Tech as they look to enhance their NCAA seeding.

1. Duke (17-2, 9-0) NET – 2, RPI – 6

Last Week: 1

Duke was really off offensively against Wake Forest, but some late heroics and solid defense got them through. They host NC State and UNC this week as they continue to eye a #1 NCAA seed.
