A couple of weeks ago we wrote about the sad decline of Kirk Herbstreit as the voice of college football. I didn’t expect to comment on something he said so soon. As far I was concerned his opinions and takes have become as valuable as Paul Finebaum. In fact, as each day passes, I’ve become unable to separate too. Just as Finebaum is generally obsessed with taking shots at Clemson, Herbstreit now seems to be doing the same.
.@KirkHerbstreit sets the record straight on ESPN SEC bias:
“We could not have paid for a better final four with Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, and Texas. The only one missing is Michigan… So this idea we want Alabama, Texas A&M, and Auburn. Are you kidding me?” pic.twitter.com/xbci8PfrrG

In defense of ESPN against their SEC Bias (ok perceived SEC Bias), at about the 1 minute mark in the video above Herbstreit throws Clemson’s name into the hat as the southern school you wouldn’t want in the playoffs.
Um, when did Clemson join the SEC? Why is a program that’s won 2 national titles since 2016, and has been the ACC’s premier football program since 2014 catching strays in a conversation that doesn’t include them?
Am I reading too much into his comments? I don’t think so. The statement was so pointed, it had to be intentional no?
Didn’t he have two kids that went to Clemson as well?
I really don’t follow where Clemson is in this discussion, but the more Herbstreit talks lately the worse he gets.
