18. Miami (4-8, 0-1) NET – 162 RPI – 273
Last Week: 18
How bad do you have to be to be at the bottom of the ACC in these power rankings? Miami has 2 Q4 losses.
17. Georgia Tech (5-7, 0-2) NET – 173, RPI – 253
Last Week: 17
Georgia Tech is 5-0 against the Q4. Too bad they are 0-7 against everyone else. Alabama A&M isn’t helping anything even if they win.
16. Virginia Tech (5-7, 0-1) NET – 219, RPI – 236
Last Week: 16
Virginia Tech is even worse than Syracuse against their Q1-Q3 opponents. The Hokies are 0-6 against them.
15. Syracuse (5-6, 0-1) NET – 135, RPI – 130
Last Week: 15
When you are 1-6 against the Q1, Q2, Q3 opponents on your schedule like Syracuse it will probably be a long season. Bucknell should be a win this week?
14. Notre Dame (7-5, 1-0) NET – 97, RPI – 135
Last Week : 14
Notre Dame has won three games in a row. Nobody with a winning record, but still good I guess.
13. Boston College (7-5, 0-2) NET – 210, RPI – 155
Last Week: 13
Boston College has 1 win in December, and I can’t drop them lower because the middle to bottom of the ACC is so bad.
12. California (7-5, 0-1) NET – 109, RPI – 131
Last Week: 12
Cal has lost 4 of their last 5 games, and San Diego State just ran them out of the gym.
11. Florida State (9-4, 0-2) NET – 80, RPI – 71
Last Week: 11
Florida State is 0-4 against Q1 and Q2 teams. Enough said…
10. Virginia (7-5, 0-1) NET – 96, RPI – 81
Last Week: 10
Virginia gave Memphis a game, but faded late. They really could have used a win there.
9. NC State (8-4, 1-0) NET – 115, RPI – 167
Last week: 9
NC State isn’t a bad team, but without a Q1 or Q2 win, they’ll need 13 or 14 ACC wins to get on the bubble.
8. Stanford (9-3, 1-0) NET – 77, RPI – 73
Last Week: 7
Stanford is 8th here on these rankings, but I don’t see them or any team from here on down realistically sniffing the bubble without showing things we haven’t seen all year.
7. Wake Forest (9-4, 1-1) NET – 110, RPI- 80
Last week: 5
Here we go again with Wake Forest… They have the Michigan win, but little else. They will probably be around the bubble all year long.
6. Louisville (7-5, 1-1) NET – 53, RPI – 28
Last Week: 8
Louisville would be on the bubble this week which is a huge improvement from previous years. Eastern Kentucky is this week.

5. UNC (7-5, 1-0) NET – 33, RPI – 13
Last Week: 6
UNC is gradually starting to find themselves. They nearly beat top 10 Florida, and got a massive Q1 win over UCLA. If they can avoid the slow starts, they may be able to go on a run. Campbell is this week.
4. SMU (10-2, 1-0) NET – 28, RPI – 47
Last Week: 4
SMU is starting to look like an NCAA-caliber team. They have 5 straight double-digit wins. Longwood is on Dec 28th.
3. Clemson (10-3, 2-0) NET – 39, RPI – 30
Last Week: 2
Clemson couldn’t close out South Carolina in a game they fell behind by 14 early. They looked like the NCAA version against Wake Forest.
2. Pittsburgh (10-2, 1-0) NET – 9, RPI – 11
Last Week: 3
Pittsburgh cruises into the new year in great NCAA shape. The ACC portion of their schedule will be for seeding. They can go anywhere from a 3 seed to a 9 seed.
1. Duke (10-2, 2-0) NET – 3, RPI – 15
Last Week: 1
Did anyone play better basketball in December than Duke? Auburn? Duke beat them.
