FSU fans can certainly bristle that Jim Phillips has been more vocal this year in defending ACC playoff contenders than last year. Their gripe is warranted. Last year we called out Phillips and his silence about the Florida State snub.
Finally, Jim Phillips seems to be getting it. Gifted with network platform Phillips is using it to get the word out that SMU even if they lose in the ACCCG they should be in the playoff. This is obvious, but since we’ve seen the committee make decisions that defy comphrension they have to be reminded to do the right and proper thing. They should not have to be, but it’s the SEC Biased world we live in.
Phillips sounded as resolute as we’ve ever seen defending SMU if they lose the ACC Title game. I just can’t believe we’re having to do this, but thankfully Phillips is getting his voice out there.
“An 11-2 ACC undefeated regular season team…would potentially be leapfrogged by a 9-3 team? That’s not going to work.” 📠
