2024 Week 13 ACC Football Power Rankings

ACC Team of the Week : Louisville – for a 37-9 win over Pittsburgh

17. Florida State (2-9)

Last Week: 17

FSU beat Charleston Southern this past week – baby steps. It’s a major move up with surging rival Florida this week. Can the Noles salvage something out of this nightmare year?

16. Stanford  (3-8)

Last Week: 16

Stanford and Cal had a thrilling game, but the Cards came up just a bit short. They close out the season with San Jose. St. If Stanford wins and Wake Forest loses in the final weekend, I may move them up.

15. Wake Forest (4-7)

Last Week: 15

Wake Forest was no match for Miami in a 42-14 loss. They a host a hot Duke team looking for their 9th win.

14. Virginia Tech (5-6)

Last Week: 14

Things have gone south for the Hokies as they are currently on a 3 game-losing streak. A bowl hangs in the balance with arch-rival Virginia.

13. NC State (5-6)

Last Week: 13

NC State took a gut-wrenching loss at Georgia Tech as they gave up a go ahead TD with just over 20 seconds. They then just missed a 58 yarder FG to win. They have to win at UNC to make a bowl game.

12. Virginia  (5-6)

Last Week: 12

SMU dispatched Virginia easily, and now Virginia has to find a to win at Virginia Tech to get to a bowl game. In fact, both teams are playing for a bowl game.

11. North Carolina (6-5)

Last Week: 8

North Carolina continued their inconsistent ways getting blown at Boston College. With a win this weekend, they can keep rival NC State home for the Holidays. How does the react to the Mack Brown firing.

10. Boston College (6-5)

Last Week: 11

Boston College is 2-2 in the last four game against a tough schedule of Louisville, Syracuse, SMU and UNC. That’s not too bad, and I think they’ll send Pitt to their 5th straight loss.

9. California  (6-5)

Last Week: 10

Good thing Cal beat Stanford to get bowl eligible because trying to knock off a SMU team on a mission to the playoffs will be very difficult.

8. Pitt (7-4)

Last week:  6

Pitt’s season is coming off the rails. They have to win at Boston College before the losing streak hits 5 games.

7. Syracuse (8-3)

Last week: 9

Syracuse is 8-3 after a 31-24 win over UConn. They are more than capable of beating Miami in their home finale in what is a very intriguing game.

6. Louisville (7-4)

Last Week: 7

Louisville rebounded from their Stanford loss to beat Pitt this past weekend. If they knock off Kentucky, despite some ups and downs the season would be considered a success, but lose to a 4-7 Wildcat team and Louisville fans are going to be pretty steamed.

5. Georgia Tech (7-4)

Last Week : 5

Georgia Tech has navigated the limitations of QB Hayne King with a fine play from QB Aaron Philo to win their last 2 games including a game-winning TD run against NC State. He’s part of beating Georgia this Friday and he’ll be a legend.

4. Duke (8-3)

Last Week: 4

Duke is the quietest 8-3 team in the country, with two of their losses to top 10 SMU and Miami. If they beat Wake Forest they are 9-3 which would be a remarkable first season for HC Manny Diaz.

3. Clemson (9-2)

Last Week: 3

Clemson got the series of upsets they needed to get back into the playoff picture. Now it’s up to them to do something with it and beat arch-rival and top 15 South Carolina… easier said than done.

2. Miami (10-1)

Last Week: 2

You kind of felt like Miami would take care of Wake Forest. The real test to finish out the season was always going to be a tough game at Syracuse. Miami has their chance to prove their playoff worth. If they lose, won’t get to the ACC Championship or likely to the playoffs.

1. SMU  (10-1)

Last Week: 1

SMU is finally starting to get the respect they deserve. Now they need to finish off the season style with Cal next. Don’t slip now.
