November 25, 2024 ACC Basketball Power Rankings

We’ll start adding NET and RPI rankings once there are enough data points. 

18. Georgia Tech (2-3)

Last Week: 18

Cincinnati toyed with Georgia Tech for 40 minutes in Atlanta, as the Jackets showed no signs of moving off this last-place spot. This week is Charleston Southern and Central Arkansas.

17. Virginia Tech (3-2)

Last Week: 17

Virginia Tech lost by double digits to some school called Jacksonville. 6-1 Michigan is this week – oh boy.

16. Miami   (3-3)

Last Week: 7

Miami went L, L, L to Drake, Oklahoma State, and VCU which sends them plummeting. Charleston Southern in this week.

15. Syracuse (3-2)

Last Week: 9

Syracuse was actually competitive in losses to Texas and Texas Tech, but losses are losses. Cornell is up this week.

14. SMU (4-2)

Last Week: 13

SMU had chances against Mississippi State, but it was another OOC loss for the ACC. California Baptist is ahead in the upcoming week.

13. Notre Dame (4-1)

Last Week : 5

Notre Dame loses to Elon which derailed a 4-0 start to the year. Rutgers and Houston are this week. Big opportunity to make up for it, or fall further in the power rankings.

12. Boston College (4-1)

Last Week: 15

Boston College has quietly won three games in a row. Dartmouth is on Friday.

11. Florida State (6-1)

Last Week: 14

OK FSU we see you. That’s 3 wins in a row. Western Carolina is on Wednesday.

10. Louisville  (3-1)

Last Week: 12

Louisville gets a chance to open eyes against Indiana on Wednesday.

9. Clemson (4-1)

Last Week: 11

Clemson’s game against San Francisco will be a test. Florida A&M is on Friday.

8. Virginia (3-2)

Last Week: 4

Virginia had ugly losses this week to Tennesee and St. Johns where they were totally outplayed. Tony Bennett is already missed. Manhatten and Holy Cross are this week.

7. California  (5-1)

Last Week: 16

Cal gets a bump on the strength of 3-o week that included a solid win at USC. Power Conference wins earn major points in this power ranking. MercyHurst should send Cal to 6-1 this week.

6. Wake Forest (6-1)

Last week: 10

Wake Forest has already beat Michigan. If they can get Florida, that will look real good in March.

5. Stanford (6-0)

Last Week: 8

Can Stanford move to 8-0 with Grand Canyon and Cal Poly this week?

4. NC State (5-0)

Last week:  6

We’re not sure how good NC State is at 5-0. We’ll find out when they play Purdue.

3. Pittsburgh (6-1)

Last Week: 3

Pittsburgh picked up another strong win with a double-digit win over LSU. Wisconsin got them in a 81-75 defeat, but the Panthers are building an NCAA resume. Ohio State should be a good matchup this week.

2. UNC  (3-1)

Last Week: 1

The Maui Invitational is going to tell us a lot about UNC starting with Dayton in an elite field.

1. Duke (4-1)

Last Week: 2

Duke looked Final 4 good, winning by 14 at Arizona. That’s one of the best wins anywhere this year. Duke gets Kansas in a massive early season matchup on Tuesday.
