Did we see the future of ACC quarterbacking with NC State vs Georgia Tech?

Just a quick post for tonight…

Unless you were a fan of NC State vs Georgia Tech you many have found the first 53 minutes of a 16-14 slugfest kind of dull.

Then it was a whirlwind of the future of quarterbacking in the ACC.

Down 23-14 with under 7 minutes left in the game, NC State Freshman QB CJ Bailey guided the Wolfpack to 15 straight unanswered to take a 29-23 lead with 90 seconds left.

Then Georgia Tech Freshman QB Aaron Philo took the Jackets 75 yards for a TD scoring the go ahead score himself.

30-29 Georgia Tech, and CJ Bailey with just 22 seconds gets NC State into FG range, where the game ended on a just missed 58 yarder for the Wolfpack.

If this is the future of quarterbacking in the ACC, we are in for a treat. For most of the game, both QBs were a mixture of mistakes and great play, but with the game on the line, they were unstoppable and made the biggest plays at the biggest moments.

That final 7 minutes of Georgia Tech and NC State was as wild and entertaining as a football game can be.

Georgia Tech moves to 7-4 with back-to-back heart-stopping wins. It now gets an extra day of rest before facing the Georgia Tech Bulldogs. Haynes King still looks physically limited, but Aaron Philo certainly showed his immense potential.

NC State fell to 5-6, and has to win at arch-rival North Carolina to make a bowl game. Even if they don’t make it though, there is optimism with young CJ Bailey at QB.
